Duffy walked four while allowing four hits and three runs in 4.2 innings Wednesday against the Mets, although he did strike out eight.
EDGE Analysis
He also avoided taking the loss because the Royals tied the game after Duffy left, only to end up losing anyway. Duffy looked like he was building some momentum with three quality starts to open June (and a streak of four consecutive walk-free outings that dated back into May), but his control and command have evaporated over his last two appearances. In the span of 9.2 innings against the Mets and Tigers, Duffy's given up four homers and six walks. He does have 12 strikeouts in that span -- part of a season-long improvement in whiff rate, no doubt due in part to his time in the bullpen -- but the Royals need him to be more efficient. He threw 102 pitches in this game while failing to finish five frames, which isn't very efficient at all.

Duffy (2-1) mowed down 10 White Sox over six innings of three-hit, shutout ball in Saturday's 4-1 victory. He also walked three.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old was masterful while taking the mound a day earlier than scheduled, turning in his third consecutive quality start. Duffy threw 58 of 88 pitches for strikes, upping his pitch count for the second straight start. Most impressive was the 21 bats that he managed to miss over his six innings on the mound, while besting the season-high nine whiffs he'd posted in his previous start. He'll look to continue his impressive stretch when he takes on the Tigers next Thursday.

Duffy will make his next start Saturday, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy was originally supposed to go Sunday, but with Chris Young's start being pushed back to Tuesday due to his recent struggles, the 27-year-old will be moved up one day. Still on five-day's rest, the lefty hurler will look to bounce back from a tough loss to Baltimore where he struck out nine batters and gave up two earned runs over 6.2 innings.

Duffy (1-1) allowed two runs in 6.1 innings in a losing effort against the Orioles on Monday. He gave up five hits and struck out nine without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
It has taken Duffy a little while to get used to being back in the starting rotation, but over his last two starts he has struck out 15 without walking a single batter. Duffy still hasn't thrown more than 80 pitches in a start this season, but he has been steadily increasing that number. The lefty will take a 3.35 ERA and 1.07 WHIP into his start Sunday against the White Sox.

Duffy (1-0) gained his first win of 2016 on Wednesday after giving up three runs on seven hits with six strikeouts in six innings against Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a bit of a rocky transition from Duffy's early-season work in the bullpen back into the rotation, but this was the longest start of his four thus far. The lefty's still carrying a strikeout per inning for the season, but it's yet unclear whether that's an improvement we can count on persisting while he's in the rotation. Still, with pitching thin in a lot of formats, he's shown enough to be worth a pickup.

Duffy didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 7-5 victory over the White Sox. He surrendered five hits and five earned runs over 5.1 innings, while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
All of the damage came on back-to-back mistakes in the sixth inning, with a Melky Cabrera grand slam immediately followed by a solo shot from Todd Frazier, accounting for all of the White Sox runs on the day. Duffy was relatively sharp otherwise, throwing 61 of 76 pitches for strikes, while recording first-pitch strikes on an impressive 17 of 21 batters. The 27-year-old upped his pitch count for the second straight start, and the five runs were the first he'd given up since joining the rotation. Duffy will make his fourth start of the season next Wednesday versus Chris Archer and the Rays.

Duffy will get the start Friday against the White Sox, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After Thursday's game was postponed due to rain, both the Royals and the White Sox will push their scheduled starters back to Friday. Duffy, who has not gone beyond 4.1 innings in either of his two starts this season, will be opposed by Chicago's Miguel Gonzalez for the series opener.

Duffy's start Thursday against the White Sox was postponed due to inclement weather, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Severe thunderstorms have been rolling through the greater Kansas City area Thursday and with no signs of slowing up, the Royals and White Sox agreed to postpone Thursday's series opener. The Royals have yet to announce whether Duffy's start will merely be pushed back to Friday or whether they'll stick with Yordano Ventura on the hill.

Duffy didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the White Sox, getting pulled after 63 pitches. He surrendered four hits and no runs over 4.1 innings, while also striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old made his second consecutive spot start, and was allowed to throw 15 more pitches than in his first outing. As he did that day, Duffy held the opposition scoreless, and has now thrown 11 consecutive innings without giving up an earned run. He's holding opposing batters to a .234 average this season, while sporting a solid 2.13 ERA.

Duffy allowed no runs on one hit and two walks while striking out five over three innings, but received no decision Sunday against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Duffy was on a pitch limit, explaining his early exit in his spot start. Although this was his first start of the season, he's now held opponents scoreless in 10 of his last 11 outings, and he has a 2.57 ERA along with a 1.19 WHIP. If he's needed to do so, he could make another start Friday against the White Sox.
