Jim Duquette of MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM Radio reports that the Nationals are the previously unidentified team that's offered C.J. Wilson a six-year contract. The Nationals have been viewed by many as the favorites to sign Wilson, and if Duquette's report is correct, they could really be in the driver's seat. Wilson is reportedly looking for a six-year, $100 million deal, but many figured he would have a hard time netting such a contract. Perhaps he will after all.

Juan C. Rodriguez of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that the Marlins have not offered C.J. Wilson a six-year contract. Wilson reportedly has a six-year offer on the table from someone, but evidently it's not from Miami. Many are viewing the Nationals as the favorites for the left-hander, so perhaps the offer came from them. The Angels, Red Sox and Rangers are also interested in Wilson.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Cubs have spoken to C.J. Wilson's agent. Rosenthal says the Cubs are "trying to gauge the market." It's unclear at this point if they're a real player, but we tend to doubt it. Wilson reportedly has a six-year offer on the table and is drawing serious interest from the Nationals, Marlins, Angels, Red Sox and Rangers.

Jon Paul Morosi of SI.com reports that the Marlins, Angels and two other teams have offers out to free agent left-hander C.J. Wilson. Some view the Nationals as the current favorite to sign Wilson, but the Marlins now have huge momentum after signing Heath Bell and Jose Reyes. The 30-year-old is reportedly seeking a six-year deal worth more than $100 million. He registered a 2.94 ERA and 206/74 K/BB ratio over 223 1/3 innings this past year for the Rangers.

Jon Paul Morosi of SI.com reports that the Nationals, Marlins, Rangers, Angels and Red Sox are the leading contenders to sign free agent left-hander C.J. Wilson. Jon Heyman of SI.com reported earlier in the day that the Nationals are currently viewed as the favorites to sign Wilson. The lefty is reportedly seeking a six-year deal worth more than $100 million. Wilson, 30, posted a stellar 2.94 ERA and 206/74 K/BB ratio over 223 1/3 innings this past year for Texas.

Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the Nationals are currently viewed as the favorites to sign free agent left-hander C.J. Wilson. Wilson is reportedly seeking a six-year deal worth more than $100 million, and the Nationals, who, according to Heyman, are expected to be "big spenders" at the Winter Meetings, probably will be willing to give it to him. The 30-year-old is also being courted by the Angels and Marlins, and the Red Sox might get in on the bidding as well.

The Red Sox are expected to meet with the agent for C.J. Wilson during winter meetings, according to Mike Silverman of the Boston Globe. Wilson is reportedly seeking a six-year deal worth more than $100 million, though it is not yet known whether Boston or any other club would be willing to meet that asking price. The Nationals, Angels, and Marlins remain among the teams who have expressed interest.

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels plans to meet with C.J. Wilson's agent, Bob Garber, next week at the Winter Meetings in Dallas. Daniels has remained in contact with Wilson's reps and reiterated to reporters Friday that they would love to have him back. Of course, the 30-year-old left-hander should do quite well as the best pitcher on the market this winter, so they likely have a limit to how far they would be willing to go to keep him. The Nationals, Angels and Marlins are among the clubs who have reportedly expressed interest.

Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the Nationals have identified C.J. Wilson as their top target and are "going to push" for him. Most expect the Nationals to make at least one free agent splash this offseason, and it appears that it might come in the form of Wilson. They appear dead set on adding a left-handed starter, and although they've also been linked to Mark Buehrle, it looks like Wilson is higher on their priority list. It's likely going to take around $100 million to land the southpaw.
