Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Nationals are "out" on C.J. Wilson. It's been thought all along that the Nationals preferred Mark Buehrle, and they appear to be in a battle with the Marlins for him. Morosi also notes that Rangers CEO Nolan Ryan doesn't expect Wilson to re-sign. It appears that it's down to the Marlins and Angels for the left-hander, with the Marlins reportedly having offered a six-year deal.

According to ESPN's Karl Ravech, the Marlins have offered a six-year deal to free agent left-hander C.J. Wilson. If true, one wonders if the Marlins have moved on from their pursuit of free agent first baseman Albert Pujols. Of course, Wilson is drawing plenty of interest from other clubs. In fact, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports that the Angels were ramping up their pursuit in hopes of getting a deal done Wednesday. Stay tuned.

Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star Telegram reports that the Rangers have yet to make free agent left-hander C.J. Wilson an offer. An earlier report indicated that the Rangers submitted a four-year, $60 million offer to the southpaw, but Wilson's agent, Bob Garber, said he's yet to receive any proposal. Regardless, the Rangers don't appear likely to re-sign Wilson, as he'll probably get more money elsewhere and they seem more focused on Mark Buehrle, anyway.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that the Rangers' offer to C.J. Wilson is believed to be for four years and $60 million. It's a perfectly reasonable offer, but one that's not likely to get it done. Wilson reportedly has a six-year offer on the table, but there's some questions as to whether that's a made up offer that came from his representatives. The left-hander reportedly wants $100 million over six years but is unlikely to get it.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that the Marlins are expected to only go after one more remaining "big free agent." Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reported earlier that the Marlins wouldn't rule out signing both Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson, but Heyman thinks they'll stop at Pujols if they sign him and if they don't will go after Wilson or Mark Buehrle. The latter's opinion certainly seems more realistic, but we can't count the Marlins out of anything at this point.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Marlins are not ruling out signing both Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson. He adds that owner Jeffrey Loria is "pushing" the team's interest in Wilson. It sounds like an absurd proposition that the Marlins could sign Jose Reyes and Heath Bell and still have room for Pujols and Wilson, but we can't rule anything out for them at this point. If they do sign both players, they might end up dealing the apparently disgruntled Hanley Ramirez.

C.J. Wilson's agent, Bob Garber, is scheduled to meet with Rangers general manager Jon Daniels on Tuesday night. The Rangers are expected to present Garber with an official offer. Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reported Monday that the Angels are "making a serious push" to sign Wilson. Wilson's next contract will likely be at least four or five years and over $15 annually. The Nationals, Marlins, Cubs and Red Sox are all also known to have interest in Wilson.

Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Angels are "making a serious push" to sign free agent left-hander C.J. Wilson. The Angels are looking to bolster an already-formidable rotation, and Wilson certainly would be a fine addition. It will likely require at least 4-5 years and probably over $15 million per season to sign him, though, and it remains to be seen whether the Angels will be willing to go to those lengths. The Nationals, Marlins, Red Sox and Rangers have all been connected to Wilson, though the Nats' and Red Sox' interest doesn't appear to be high.

Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post reports that the Nationals have had "little, if any, interest in C.J. Wilson from the jump," as Mark Buehrle remains their top free agent target. A report surfaced earlier Monday that the Nats offered Wilson a six-year deal, but it was shot down by general manager Mike Rizzo. It sounds like Wilson isn't even on the team's radar and the report was likely an effort by Wilson's representatives to bump up the left-hander's asking price. Buehrle reportedly has three-year offers in the $36-39 million range from a few teams, and it seems likely that the Nats are one of those clubs.
