Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Marlins met with C.J. Wilson's agent Bob Garber on Tuesday night.
Garber also represents free agent right-hander Roy Oswalt. The Marlins, looking to create some buzz for their new ballpark, have reportedly made offers to some of the biggest names in free agency, including Albert Pujols, Jose Reyes and Mark Buehrle, so we figured it was only a matter of time before they would intensity their pursuit of Wilson. The free agent left-hander has also drawn interest from the Rangers, Blue Jays, Nationals, Yankees and Angels, among others.

According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Yankees believe the prices are "way too high" on free agent pitchers C.J. Wilson and Edwin Jackson.
The Yankees have been in touch with the agents for both pitchers, but are in no rush to make a significant offer. While pitching is a top priority for Yankees' general manager Brian Cashman this offseason, they plan to wait out the market in hopes that the prices fall. There are few quality options among free agent starters, so we're not sure this strategy will actually prove successful.

C.J. Wilson's agent, Bob Garber, said Tuesday that he is going to New York to meet with Yankees' officials.
Garber met with Yanks' GM Brian Cashman on Tuesday in Milwaukee. It's not clear when the trip to New York will take place, but Garber said that the Bombers are among six or seven teams in serious talks for the free agent left-hander. Wilson, who is regarded as the best starting pitcher on the market, is believed to be asking for a six-year contract in the range of $100 million.

The Yankees met with Bob Garber, the agent for C.J. Wilson and Roy Oswalt, on Tuesday at the general managers' meetings in Milwaukee.
Garber has also reportedly had meetings this week with the Angels and Nationals, among others. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has made pitching his No. 1 priority this winter, but the bidding for Wilson and Oswalt should be fierce.

According to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times, the Angels have "serious interest" in free agent left-hander C.J. Wilson.
In fact, new Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto is scheduled to meet with Wilson's agent Monday night at the GM meetings in Milwaukee. Of course, they aren't alone in their interest. The Rangers, Nationals, Yankees and Marlins have also checked in on the 30-year-old southpaw. It's believed that he is looking for a five- or six-year deal this winter.

Rangers GM Jon Daniels said this weekend that he has remained in contact with free agent C.J. Wilson.
Wilson has already drawn legitimate interest from a number of different major league teams, including the Angels, Nationals, Yankees and Marlins. But the Rangers are keeping tuned in on negotiations and will make an offer when they feel the time is right. Wilson, 30, posted a sparkling 2.94 ERA and 206/74 K/BB ratio in 223 1/3 innings this past year for Texas.

Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto said Friday that he has "reached out" to the agent for left-hander C.J. Wilson.
Dipoto said earlier this week that he was interested in Wilson, so this shouldn't come as a big surprise. However, he also said it is "very early in the courting period," so we can probably chalk this up to a matter of due diligence on his part. Wilson is viewed as the top starting pitcher available this winter and has already drawn interest from the Marlins and Yankees, among others.

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, adding a left-handed starting pitcher is the Marlins' top priority this offseason.
Rosenthal names C.J. Wilson and Mark Buehrle as two likely targets. While pitching is believed to be their primary focus, the Marlins have been in contact with the agent for Jose Reyes and are expected to make a bid on Cuban outfielder Yoennis Cespedes. Many believe they will also throw their hat in the ring for Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder. Needless to say, this promises to be an interesting winter in South Florida.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said he will "certainly" talk with free agent C.J. Wilson at some point.
"We haven't talked to him yet, but we will," Cashman said. "They have won a lot and he's been a big part of that, so we'll certainly talk to him." It's hardly a surprise, as Wilson is viewed as the top starter on the market and the Yankees need pitching, so we would expect them to at least kick the tires on the left-hander. But, it also doesn't necessarily mean they'll be real players for the southpaw. The Yanks do figure to acquire at least one more starter even after extending CC Sabathia.

C.J. Wilson attributed the majority of his success to the Rangers organization in comments made after Game 7 of the World Series.
"The baseball angle here is very strong," Wilson said. "We've proven we can win. We have guys on the team coming back. We have a lot of pieces that I think are complementary to me and vice-versa, so in that regard, that kind of speaks for itself. I like it here in that sense. They've treated me with a lot of respect the last two years as a starting pitcher and they've given me a chance to improve, given me a chance to solidify my role on the team as well as around the league as a premium starter. I feel like a lot of my success is because of the team that I've been playing on." General manager Jon Daniels and CEO Nolan Ryan both commented during this postseason that Wilson will be highly valued on the open market. The question now becomes whether his price tag will reach a level that the Rangers are unwilling to entertain.
