Chris Davis went 2-for-4 and hit his 39th homer against the Astros on Thursday.
The homer off Travis Blackley was the 10th for Davis off a left-hander this season. Also, his strikeout streak was snapped after 24 games tonight. It was the first time since July 2 that he didn't whiff.

Chris Davis went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in the Orioles' 4-3 win over the Astros on Tuesday.
It was refreshing to see Davis get back to his pre-break self. In the 10 games prior to Tuesday's game, Davis hit just .205/.256/.282 with no homers and a 20/3 K/BB ratio. On Tuesday, the slugger walked twice along with hitting his 38th homer. The home run gave him 99 RBI this season, and despite his struggles he's still batting .305/.382/.680. Maybe this will be the spark he needs to go on a second half run.

Chris Davis will serve as the DH on Tuesday against the Astros.
It will be his fourth start of the season out of the DH spot and his first since June 27. Davis hasn't homered since July 14 and has struck out in 22 straight games. Ryan Flaherty will start in his place at first base.

Chris Davis struck out all four times he was up Thursday in the loss to the Royals.
Davis homered in four straight games entering the All-Star break and the Home Run Derby. In seven games since, he's gone 6-for-28 with no homers and 13 strikeouts. Given the post-break struggles of some past Derby participants, Davis's little slump is a bit worrisome.

Chris Davis went 2-for-4 with a two-run double and a sac fly against the Royals on Monday.
Davis did something tonight he hadn't done in five years; collect three RBI in a game in which he didn't homer. He did it twice with the Rangers in 2008, including the crazy 19-17 loss to the Red Sox.

Chris Davis said he is not concerned about a blister that burst on his right palm during Monday's Home Run Derby.
Davis said that he deals with the blister every year and just has to switch to different batting gloves. The league's leading home run hitter made it to the second round of Monday's Derby.

Chris Davis opened up a callous on his right hand while participating in Monday's Home Run Derby.
The callous was opened by a swing during the second round. Davis had the hand wrapped after being eliminated, but he should be fine. The league's home run leader slugged eight bombs in Round 1 but managed just four in Round 2, as the callous surely affected him.

Chris Davis ended the first half strong on Sunday, going 2-for-4 with his 37th homer and four RBI in the Orioles' 7-4 win over the Blue Jays.
He also doubled and scored two runs. Davis entered the day hitting .171 in July, but his owners hardly care. He leads the American League in homers and slugging percentage and is second in RBI and runs. Now batting .315, Crush Davis is on pace for 62 homers, 157 RBI and 118 runs.

Chris Davis launched his 35th home run of the season Friday against the Blue Jays.
It was a two-run blast against Mark Buehrle in the bottom of the second inning. Davis finished the day 2-for-4, giving him his first multi-hit game since July 3. He now has 88 RBI through 94 games, which is a new team record before the All-Star break. The previous record-holder, Boog Powell, had 86 RBI through 94 games in 1969.
