Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Diamondbacks. Gonzalez's production slowed down during the Rockies' 10-game road trip, but he was able to cap off the visit to Arizona on a high note. With the Rockies now set to kick off a six-game home slate before the All-Star break, Gonzalez should notice some recovery in the batting average category, where he still sits at .244 for the season despite heating up since June.

Gonzalez is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against Arizona, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports. Gonzalez is in a bit of a slump with just three hits over his previous seven games and will take a seat in the dugout Saturday as the Rockies face lefty Patrick Corbin. Brandon Barnes enters the lineup as result, batting eighth in the order.

Gonzalez went 5-for-5 in Friday's win over the Giants, finishing only a home run shy of the cycle while scoring three times and driving in a run. After sitting out the previous three games with a hand injury, Gonzalez announced his return to the lineup with authority, as he turned in his best performance of the season. With a .325/.357/.649 slash line in June that includes six homers and 15 RBI, Gonzalez seems to have finally gotten comfortable at the plate after a rough start to the year. With the Rockies still sitting seven games under .500 even with their core of star hitters heating up, it might be time for the team to consider dealing Gonzalez while he still remains healthy and can yield a maximum return.

Gonzalez (hand) is back in the lineup Friday against the Giants, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. The 29-year-old will return after missing three starts due to a hand sprain to face right-hander Tim Hudson, against whom he's just 4-for-21 (.190 average) in his career. Gonzalez's numbers against right-handers are up from last year, though, from .237/.309/.457 to .264/.328/.489.

Gonzalez (hand) entered Thursday's win over the Diamondbacks as a late-inning defensive replacement. Though he hasn't made a pinch-hitting appearance yet since suffering the hand injury, Gonzalez has appeared in each of the Rockies' last two games, which would seem to signal that the team doesn't think he'll land on the disabled list. It's unclear if Gonzalez will be ready to hit during Friday's game against the Giants, but it seems quite likely that he'll be able to return to the lineup at some point during the series.

Gonzalez (hand) is expected to be ready for Friday's game against the Giants, the Denver Post reports. Gonzalez missed the last three games, but X-rays on his hand came back negative, suggesting the injury is just a bad bruise.

Gonzalez is out of Thursday's lineup, the Denver Post's Patrick Saunders reports. X-rays on Gonzalez's hand were negative, so this may not require a DL stint, but he will miss his third straight game Thursday. Brandon Barnes will get the start in right field against the Diamondbacks and Gonzalez should be considered day-to-day.

Gonzalez (hand) remains out of the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks. X-rays were negative after Gonzalez left Sunday's game, and manager Walt Weiss said the team doesn't think it's anything serious, but the outfielder will miss a second straight start due to the injury. It's poor timing for Gonzalez as he appeared to be heating up, homering in three straight games against Houston last week. Brandon Barnes will get the start in right field Wednesday.

Manager Walt Weiss labeled Gonzalez as "day-to-day" heading into Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. "Just one or two days," Weiss said. "But with the hand, it is always a little concerning with hitters...there is always a concern it could linger, but we don't think it's anything serious." X-rays conducted on Gonzalez's sprained left hand Monday showed no damage to the bone, which seemingly qualifies Weiss' optimism. It still seems likely that Gonzalez, who sat out Tuesday, will remain out of the lineup Wednesday as a precaution, but he could be available as a substitute off the bench.

Gonzalez (hand) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports. Gonzalez sprained his hand during Sunday's game against the Brewers, and X-rays after the contest came back negative. He's likely considered day-to-day, although it isn't a great sign that Monday's off day wasn't enough for him to get back into the lineup.
