Gonzalez is hitting .211 with two home runs in 13 spring games.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander has scuffled a bit at the plate this spring, but it isn't too concerning considering he's still coming off of one of the best (and healthiest) seasons of his career. Gonzalez has remained healthy all spring and is looking to build off of his strong second half from last season.

The Rockies might consider moving Gonzalez to first base, FOX Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Gerardo Parra recently signed to a three-year contract, the Rockies have four starting-caliber outfielders who bat from the left side of the plate. The team may seek a trade, but there's also some chance Gonzalez or Corey Dickerson will be moved to first base. It's also entirely possible the Rockies will stand pat, as injuries could quickly solve the logjam.

Gonzalez is out of Thursday's lineup against the Diamondbacks, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez will take a seat as the Diamondbacks send the left-handed Patrick Corbin to the mound. In his place, Kyle Parker will start in right field, batting seventh for the Rockies.

Gonzalez smacked his 40th homer of the season in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
In so doing, Gonzalez and Nolan Arenado (41 homers) became the first pair of Rockies teammates to reach the 40-homer plateau in the same season since 1997. Gonzalez leads the major leagues with 27 second-half bombs.

Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with a walk-off two-run homer in Saturday's 8-6 win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez smashed a 94 mile-per-hour fastball from Dodgers reliever Yimi Garcia over the fence for his 39th homer of the season and league-leading 26th tater of the second half. With Nolan Arenado hitting his 40th homer of the season earlier in the evening, Gonzalez needs to leave the yard just once more in order for two Rockies teammates to finish with 40-plus homers for the first time since 1997. That season, three Rockies -- Ellis Burks, Vinny Castilla, and Andres Galarraga -- were able to achieve the feat.

Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with a homer, a walk, a RBI and three runs in Friday's win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez's rebound season has gone so well that he's managed to be productive even when mired in a six-week slump. Since Aug. 15, Gonzalez is hitting just .237 with a .296 OBP, yet he's still clobbered 12 homers, driven in 26 RBI and scored 22 runs during that span. If this is what a slump looks like, owners can only hope to see a CarGo hot streak to top off the season.

Gonzalez is out of the lineup Thursday, the Denver Post's Patrick Saunders reports.
EDGE Analysis
A lot of the Rockies' regulars are off for Thursday's day game against southpaw Jeff Locke and the Pirates, specifically the lefties. Rafael Ynoa will get the start in left field and hit sixth.

Gonzalez (foot) is back in the lineup Friday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez was held out of the lineup Wednesday after fouling a ball off his foot Tuesday, but he was able to serve as a pinch-hitter in the contest so his return to the lineup doesn't come as much of a surprise. He'll assume his usual right field duties, batting third.

Gonzalez was held out of Wednesday's lineup against the Dodgers as a result of fouling a ball of his right foot in Tuesday's game, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tuesday's 16-inning marathon proved to be a frustrating game for Gonzalez, who went 0-for-7 with four strikeouts while fouling the ball of his foot during his seventh at-bat. Gonzalez was able to come on for a pinch-hitting appearance in Wednesday's game, so it appears any pain he's experiencing in his foot isn't overly problematic. There's a good chance he'll be ready to go for Friday's series opener against the Padres.

Gonzalez is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
After going hitless in seven at-bats in Tuesday's marathon game, Gonzalez will get the night off Wednesday against Alex Wood and the Dodgers. With the night off Wednesday, he'll get an extra day of rest before the Rockies open their series with the Padres on Friday.
