The 30-year-old has multi-hit games in three of his last four contests, and is now slashing an outstanding .400/.449/.778 through the first 11 games.

Gonzalez stretched his season-opening hitting streak to eight games Wednesday, going 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, an RBI and two runs against the Giants.

EDGE Analysis

We got great power output out of CarGo last year -- the finest of his career -- and yet he only hit .271, his second straight season of unimpressive average after four straight of .295 or better. Not surprisingly, his BABIP has been muffled over the last two years, with .283 and .284 marks contrasting a career .336 average. A BABIP rebound could mean that we get an even better version of Gonzalez this year -- a happy prospect for fantasy owners who picked him up at a bargain price because of his reputation for poor health.
