Carrasco (14-11) tossed a complete-game shutout on Friday, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out 15 in a win over Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning and went the distance for the third time in his past nine starts. Carrasco has been striking batters out all season, ranking ninth in the league. Over the past few months, however, he has become similarly dominant in other categories. In his 11 starts since the All-Star break, Carrasco has a 2.49 ERA with a minuscule 0.84 WHIP. He can be counted on to shine during fantasy playoffs.

Carrasco (13-11) took the loss in Saturday's 5-2 defeat by the White Sox despite striking out nine in five-plus innings. He surrendered four hits, three runs (two earned) and two walks.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old hard-throwing right-hander couldn't get by with just his wicked stuff on Saturday, although the performance did mark his second consecutive nine-strikeout outing. Carrasco had come into Saturday in good form, having posted quality starts in six of his previous seven trips to the mound, including back-to-back complete games during that stretch. In spite of Saturday's setback, Carrasco has enjoyed a banner year, posting career-highs in wins, strikeouts, starts and innings pitched, and his current 10.3 K/9 rate ranks him among the best in baseball in that category.

Carrasco (13-10) gave up one earned run over six innings Monday, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out nine in an 8-3 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
The win was Carrasco's sixth quality start in his last seven outings, a span including at least five strikeouts each game. Carrasco has performed admirably as Cleveland's de facto ace, helping the Indians stay afloat in their pursuit of a wild-card spot until Corey Kluber returns from the disabled list.

Carrasco will not start Sunday as scheduled due to the postponement of Saturday's game against the Tigers, according to MLB.com's Jordan Bastian.
EDGE Analysis
Saturday's scheduled starter, Cody Anderson, will take Carrasco's spot in the rotation for one end of a doubleheader Sunday. Carrasco will be pushed back a day to Monday and face the Royals instead of the Tigers.

Carrasco's return to the mound did not go as planned Tuesday, as he allowed four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five in 2.2 innings against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
He had just been activated from the DL after missing time with shoulder inflammation, but after the game manager Terry Francona said he was not worried about Carrasco's health going forward. His next start will come Sunday at home against the Tigers.

Carrasco (shoulder) was officially activated from the 15-day DL on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Carrasco was activated ahead of Tuesday's start against Carlos Rodon and the White Sox after missing just over the minimum 15 days required by his DL stint. Carrasco has turned in a 3.53 ERA so far this season, but his 2.78 FIP ranks eighth in baseball among qualifiers.

Carrasco's bullpen session went well Saturday and he is scheduled to be activated to start Tuesday's game against the White Sox, the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Paul Hoynes reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Carrasco appears ready to return to the Indians' rotation after missing a couple weeks with a shoulder issue. Make sure he is in season-long lineups heading into next week.

Carrasco (shoulder) could start Tuesday against the White Sox, the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Paul Hoynes reports.
EDGE Analysis
He will throw a bullpen session Saturday and with Corey Kluber (hamstring) on the mend, and while nothing is official yet, everything sets up nicely for Carrasco to jump in as the fifth member of the rotation.

Carrasco (shoulder) is on tap to throw a bullpen session Friday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The session should provide the Indians with a decent barometer of where Carrasco is on the health front after the shoulder issue forced him to the DL last week. If all goes well during the session, Carrasco could rejoin the Indians' rotation in the minimum 15 days and take the hill at some point during the Tribe's three-game series with the White Sox that opens Monday night.

Carrasco (shoulder) is not currently scheduled to return to the Indians' rotation this week.
EDGE Analysis
There was speculation that, given how well his shoulder apparently feels, Carrasco could return from the DL when first eligible to pitch Sunday against the Tigers. However, it seems Josh Tomlin will start Saturday with Danny Salazar getting the ball Sunday. If Carrasco is indeed as healthy as the Indians suggest, it would be a bit surprising if he did not return to the rotation at some point next week. The Indians will then have to decide whether to remove someone from the rotation or to go to a six-man rotation.
