Carrasco (hand) shed his cast Monday and expects to begin throwing in about six weeks, Anthony Castrovince of MLB reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco is definitely out for the rest of the postseason no matter how far the Indians go, but this timetable should have the right-hander easily back in time for the start of spring training.

Carrasco (hand) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Friday, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco would not be healthy enough to pitch even if the Indians advance far into the playoffs, so the team decided to move him to the 60-day disabled list in order to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for Yan Gomes. Carrasco will be back at 100 percent sometime this winter though, and will almost certainly head into next season as the Indians' No. 2 starter.

Carrasco (hand) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
This was expected after Carrasco was diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal in his throwing hand, but manager Terry Francona confirmed that Carrasco is done for the year. He was hit by a line drive in the first inning Saturday and was forced to leave after throwing two pitches. A replacement for Carrasco in the rotation has not yet been named.

Carrasco has been diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal in his right hand, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He took a line drive off his hand early Saturday, forcing him from the game after a mere two pitches. Although the fracture is non-displaced, it's still the type of injury that figures to keep Carrasco out for the remainder of the regular season, and likely the postseason as well. That said, the Indians are not currently offering up a timetable for Carrasco's return.

Carrasco exited Saturday's game against the Tigers after taking a liner off of his pitching hand.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco threw only two pitches before a liner off the bat of Ian Kisnler struck him in the hand. At this point, it's unclear if Carrasco sustained any structural damage, but he'll undergo further testing before the team issues an update. Jeff Manship entered the game in relief of Carrasco.

Carrasco (11-8) allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk over 3.2 innings in a loss Monday to the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco has been excellent for much of the season, as he has a 3.32 ERA and 150 strikeouts over 146.1 innings. But he has been prone to short starts like Monday's -- this marks the fifth time in 24 starts Carrasco has pitched four or fewer innings. Carrasco's stuff is as good as almost anybody's in the majors -- his inconsistency is the only thing holding him back from contending for the Cy Young award.

Carrasco (11-7) pitched 7.1 innings, allowing four runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out five Astros in Wednesday's win.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco worked around some early trouble that were apparently caused by some insect issues on the mound. Immediately after a bug appeared to fly in his eye during the fourth, Carrasco surrendered a leadoff single to Yulieski Gurriel and a first-pitch, two-run homer to Colby Rasmus. Carrasco settled in, however, and took advantage of solid run support to earn his 11th win of the year. The 29-year-old righty has surrendered a career-high 20 home runs this season, but he also managed a 3.15 ERA and 1.11 WHIP -- both of which are well below his career averages -- through 23 starts. He'll make his next start Monday against the White Sox.

Carrasco (10-7) shut down the Marlins Friday, allowing zero runs on six hits and walk while fanning 11.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco returned to form by posting his third double-digit strikeout performance of the year after getting knocked out after the fourth inning in his last outing against Texas -- a sour ending to his 2-5 month of August. With Detroit within striking distance for the AL Central crown, Carrasco will need to pitch to form more consistently to help the Indians hold the Tigers off.

Carrasco (9-6) threw eight shutout innings and alloweed just four hits while striking out nine in a win Monday over Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco had struck out a brilliant 28 batters over his past three starts but had mediocre results, with 10 earned runs allowed over 20.2 innings (4.35 ERA). Monday, he turned nastiness into results, as he paired 18 swinging strikes with seven ground balls to utterly lock down the Athletics lineup. Carrasco has a 3.12 ERA thanks to some slight inconsistency, but he's one of the league's best pitchers when he's on his game.

Carrasco (8-6) pitched 6.2 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits while striking out 11 White Sox in Wednesday's no-decision.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately for Carrasco and his fantasy owners, closer Cody Allen blew a two-run lead in the ninth inning which cost Carrasco his ninth victory. As far as the starting pitcher is concerned; the five runs and eight hits can be sidestepped when looking at the 11 K's and zero walks Carrasco had Wednesday. It was only the second start this season in which the right-hander notched double-digit strikeouts, and it was the first time in 2016 that Carrasco didn't issue a free pass while pitching more than three innings. The 29-year-old has racked up 28 K's over his last 20.2 innings, and he'll look to continue drawing whiffs when he makes his next start in Oakland on Monday.
