Carrasco (8-6) pitched 6.2 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits while striking out 11 White Sox in Wednesday's no-decision.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately for Carrasco and his fantasy owners, closer Cody Allen blew a two-run lead in the ninth inning which cost Carrasco his ninth victory. As far as the starting pitcher is concerned; the five runs and eight hits can be sidestepped when looking at the 11 K's and zero walks Carrasco had Wednesday. It was only the second start this season in which the right-hander notched double-digit strikeouts, and it was the first time in 2016 that Carrasco didn't issue a free pass while pitching more than three innings. The 29-year-old has racked up 28 K's over his last 20.2 innings, and he'll look to continue drawing whiffs when he makes his next start in Oakland on Monday.
