Brian Wilson is dealing with some minor soreness in his throwing arm.
The Giants aren't alarmed and Wilson is scheduled to pitch in a minor league game on Thursday. Unless there's something the Giants aren't telling us, the bearded closer appears to be on track for the start of the season.

Brian Wilson turned in a scoreless inning in his spring debut Sunday against the Mariners.
Wilson allowed a single, walked none and struck out one. He hasn't had any setbacks with his elbow this spring, but the Giants have gone carefully with him anyway.

Brian Wilson (elbow) threw 25 pitches during a live batting practice session Wednesday.
Wilson faced Buster Posey and Freddy Sanchez, which he thought was a pretty good test for his stuff at this point of the spring. "Those are the kinds of hitters you want to face," said Wilson, who mixed in a few sliders. The bearded closer is set to make his Cactus League debut on Sunday.

Brian Wilson (elbow) is scheduled to face hitters again Wednesday.
The Giants have slowly built up Wilson's workload this spring after he dealt with elbow inflammation last season, but he made it threw his first session against live hitters Sunday without incident. The bearded closer is scheduled to make his Cactus League debut on March 11. He shouldn't need many innings to get ready for the season.

Brian Wilson (elbow) threw to hitters Sunday for the first time this spring.
"It was coming out of his hand well and moving well," Emmanuel Burriss said. "He didn't look like he was holding back." Wilson is on pace to pitch in an exhibition game March 11. He is about a week behind the other pitchers in Giants camp due to mild elbow inflammation.

Wilson is about a week behind the other pitchers in Giants camp due to mild elbow inflammation, but he's progressing well and doesn't appear to be in any danger of not being ready for Opening Day. He's expected to make his Cactus League debut around March 11 or 12.

The bearded right-hander is about a week behind the other pitchers in Giants camp due to mild elbow inflammation, but he's confident about being fine for the start of the regular season. "Opening Day, I'll be saving the game," Wilson said Monday in Arizona. "I'm ready."

Brian Wilson (elbow) was able to throw a free and easy bullpen session Thursday in Giants camp.
Wilson is still working to overcome the elbow inflammation that he developed at the end of the 2011 season, and seems to be on the right track. "It's getting better each time," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Thursday. "That's what you're looking for."

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Brian Wilson is fine and will throw as scheduled on Thursday.
Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reported early Thursday that Wilson was on a list of pitchers who would not throw Thursday, but there has apparently been a change of plans. The bearded closer will continue to ramp up his workload in preparation for exhibition action.

Brian Wilson (elbow) threw his first bullpen session of the spring on Monday.
"I feel like I'm right on schedule," said Wilson, who estimated that he was throwing at about 75 percent intensity. "It's a check on the checklist. It's a standard bullpen. I don't look too deep into it. But as far as pain, I was pain-free. No ailments, no tweaks, no inflammation." Wilson dealt with elbow and hip injuries last season, so he isn't expected to make his Cactus League debut until the second week of the exhibition schedule. However, the Giants' closer shouldn't need many innings to get ready for Opening Day.
