Brett Anderson (foot) told the San Francisco Chronicle on Saturday that he would be open to returning in a bullpen role. "At this point, I just want to come back and pitch on the mound in a big-league game," Anderson said. "I don't want to say there's not a spot for me, but I do want to be a team guy." With Dan Straily pitching well, the Athletics might not have an opening for Anderson in their starting rotation. He had just a 6.21 ERA over five starts prior to being placed on the disabled list.
