Brett Anderson tossed 6 1/3 scoreless innings against the Pirates on Friday for his first win of the season, but he was forced to exit due to an apparent blister on his throwing hand.
Anderson didn't give up his first hit until the fifth inning and ended up allowing just two in all. It was a bit of an odd outing, as he struck out just one batter and walked four, but it was good enough to put him in line for the win. Anderson was at 102 pitches when he left the ballgame, so he likely didn't have much left, anyway. After all the injuries he has dealt with in recent seasons, fortunately this one seems minor.
