Nimmo is still day-to-day with a deep muscle bruise on his hand, Newsday's Mark Carig reports. He has not swung a bat since the Mets' second spring game, after getting jammed multiple times. While Mets fans and Nimmo's dynasty league owners will be closely monitoring his success this spring, he fits more into the team's 2016 plans, and can be ignored in single season leagues for now.

Nimmo is nursing a mild left hand injury, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports. The injury kept Nimmo out of his second straight Grapefruit League contest Saturday. The Mets are calling the injury a minor issue, so the expectation is that Nimmo will be back on the field within a few days.

Nimmo tweaked his swing this off-season in the hopes of unlocking more power, the NY Post reports.Kimmo worked with new hitting coach Kevin Long and assistant hitting coach Pat Roessler and is now set up a little lower to the ground while also turning his hips more at contact. those changes have resulted in Nimmo driving the ball more than he had in the past. Nimmo, the 13th overall pick in the 2011 draft, is still filling out, aided by the offseason workout plan several Mets are following, as he is now up to 205 pounds on his 6-foot-3 frame. Many scouts believe that Nimmo, who likely will begin 2015 at Double-A Binghamton, could be up in the majors by next season.

Nimmo is one of 17 non-roster players invited to the Mets' spring training, MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reports. Nimmo was the 13th overall pick in the 2011 draft, so he's definitely more notable than most of the non-roster invites for the Mets. Still, his 2015 ambitions more realistically reside in Triple-A than the majors, as he just made it to the Double-A level for 65 games in 2014. His batting average dropped from .322 to .238 with the promotion, so the soon-to-be 22-year-old will look to adapt to the elevated level of competition this year. Despite striking out more often in Double-A, Nimmo maintained an intriguing walk rate of 14.8 percent.

Nimmo went 2-for-3 with three walks and a run scored in Scottsdale's 10-7 win over Mesa in the Arizona Fall League on Tuesday, MiLB.com reports. Nimmo's keen eye at the plate was on display again Tuesday, as he reached base safely in five of his six plate appearances, giving him a .458 OBP through five AFL games. The 21-year-old hit .278/.394/.426 with 10 homers and 14 steals in 127 games between High-A St. Lucie and Double-A Binghamton during the regular season, with his biggest strides coming against left-handed pitching. He figures to open 2015 back at Binghamton, but Mets vice president Paul DePodesta said last month that Nimmo could reach the majors at some point next season.

Nimmo, who moved from High-A St. Lucie to Double-A Binghamton this season, could hit the majors in 2015, the NY Post reports. Paul DePodesta, the Mets' vice president of player development and amateur scouting, made that comment about Nimmo, who made strides against left-handed pitching and started to physically fill out. Nimmo was promoted to Double-A Binghamton at midseason after hitting .322 with four homers and 25 RBI in 62 games for St. Lucie. For Binghamton, Nimmo hit .238 with six homers and 26 RBI in 65 games and he likely will begin 2015 with the B-Mets.

Nimmo finished the year batting a combined .278 between High-A and Double-A. It was a tale of two seasons, with a .322/.448/.458 line at High-A, but a .238/.339/.396 line once he moved up. Nimmo is a walk machine wherever he goes, but his contact skills remain in doubt despite flashing them at High-A.

Nimmo has heated up, batting .324 in his past ten games. Nimmo still has some extreme splits, batting .111 against lefties and .301 against righties, while he's .429 in day games and .217 at night. Nimmo has astounding walk ability and these splits support the idea that he has to see the ball extremely well to be successful. Closing these splits would make him quite dangerous.

Mets outfield prospect Brandon Nimmo went 1-for-5 with a double for Double-A Binghamton on Saturday. Nimmo has had trouble finding the best way to succeed in the Eastern League, hitting just .190/.326/.354 since his promotion. He has been alternating between left field and center field with Darrell Ceciliani, who is unlikely to reach the major leagues. While it would be nice to see Nimmo improve his production in Double-A , he could start 2015 in Double-A and still be in line to reach Queens in 2015.

Mets outfield prospect Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-6 with a double, home run, and a sacrifice for Double-A Binghamton on Friday. Nimmo initially struggled in the Eastern League, but has found his stroke as of late, and has hits in his last five games. Nimmo came into the season slowly falling off the prospect radar, but has hit well and could be in Queens as soon as mid-2015. He does not have star potential, but could hit .280 with a high OBP and 30-plus doubles.
