Nimmo was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday in the wake of Yoenis Cespedes' placement on the 15-day disabled list, Maria I. Guardado of The Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo will enter the mix in the outfield and could see consistent starts against left-handed pitching due to Michael Conforto's ineptitude against southpaws. The playing time split should reveal itself in the coming days, but the two remain just temporary fill-ins until Cespedes returns from the disabled list.

The Mets have optioned Nimmo to Triple-A Las Vegas, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since being recalled on on July 28, Nimmo collected two hits in five at-bats. He will head back to Triple-A as newly acquired Jay Bruce will take over the everyday duties for the Mets in right field. This season in Triple-A, Nimmo is hitting .336/.409/.517 with seven home runs and 45 RBI in 286 at-bats.

Nimmo was not part of the reworked trade for Jay Bruce.
EDGE Analysis
Initial reports had Nimmo as the centerpiece in the package for Bruce, but the two sides reworked the trade after some medical concerns popped up with one of the prospects in the deal. In the end, the Reds got Dilson Herrera and Max Wotell for Bruce while Nimmo remains with the Mets' big league club (for now), providing depth at all three outfield spots.

The trade that would send Nimmo to the Reds for Jay Bruce has been held up by medical concerns with one of the minor leaguers involved in the deal, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Apparently, the concern with the unidentified player (not Nimmo) is great enough to where the two sides will have to rework the trade. There's still a chance something will get done before the 4 pm Eastern deadline, but for now, Nimmo remains with the Mets.

Nimmo has been traded to the Reds along with two low-level prospects in a deal that will send Jay Bruce to the Mets, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Reds, Nimmo should see regular playing time against right-handed pitching down the stretch in a bid to secure a starting role heading into 2017. Despite impressive Triple-A numbers this season (.336/.409/.517), Nimmo has been unable to replicate that level of success during limited opportunities in his first year as a big league player, posting a .236/.300/.291 line over 18 games this season for the Mets.

Nimmo will be recalled by the Mets, Adam Rubin of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets have been leaning on Michael Conforto in center against right-handers over the past week, but Nimmo's return will at least give the team the option of dialing back Conforto's involvement at the position. Nimmo struggled to a .585 OPS in 16 games with the big club in his first stint with the Mets, but he's hit safely in nine straight games since his demotion back to Triple-A Las Vegas with two home runs over that span.

Nimmo will be demoted to Triple-A Las Vegas, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo posted a .585 OPS during his time in the majors that left much to be desired, but it's a crowded outfield situation that is more to blame for this demotion. With Juan Lagares healthy and back in center field, Yoenis Cespedes will take over Nimmo's spot in left. With Michael Conforto's call-up on tap as well, there simply won't be enough outfield spots available to get the 23-year-old regular reps.

Nimmo will open the second half of the season in the majors, ESPN New York reports
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo has slumped after a strong start to his major-league career but is not in any short-term danger of losing his spot. Michael Conforto has hit well in his 13 games since his demotion to Triple-A but the Mets believe he needs more time in the minors. That gives Nimmo a reprieve, but he will need to pick it up quickly or a swap of the two lefty-hitter outfielders could occur quickly.

Nimmo is out of the lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo has started the past three games in the outfield for the Mets, but will get the day off for the series finale before the All-Star break begins. With left-hander Gio Gonzalez on the mound manager Terry Collins elected to start Alejandro De Aza in left and Curtis Granderson in right.

Nimmo is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Nimmo has only registered three at-bats against left-handed pitchers this season. Wei-Yin Chen gets the start Tuesday for the Marlins, meaning Nimmo will head to the bench. The Mets will face another left-hander Wednesday so don't be surprised if Nimmo doesn't start for a second straight day.
