Adam Wainwright left Tuesday's start against the Mets with a hyperextended right knee.
Wainwright stumbled awkwardly while trying to field a chopper in the seventh inning. He walked off the field with no issues and was seen in the dugout talking and laughing with teammates, so it's probably safe to consider him day-to-day. However, more should be known about his status later Tuesday.

Adam Wainwright was on his game Thursday, striking out eight in an 8-0 two-hit shutout of the Nationals.
Waino walked three, but the only hit he allowed before a sharp single from Adam LaRoche with two outs in the ninth was a high chopper off the plate by Ian Desmond in the second inning. He retired 18 batters in a row at one point. While Wainwright has issued an uncharacteristic nine free passes over his first four outings, he also boasts a 1.80 ERA with 32 strikeouts across 30 frames. The tall right-hander will square off against the Mets and Pirates next week.

Adam Wainwright yielded four runs in seven innings in a win over the Cubs on Saturday afternoon.
Wainwright wasn't at his best, but at least he finally got some run support. He gave up seven hits and no walks in the victory and stuck out eight batters. Through his first three starts, the veteran right-hander owns a 2.57 ERA and 24/6 K/BB ratio over 21 innings. There's every reason to believe that he'll be a fantasy ace again in 2014.

Adam Wainwright yielded two earned runs in seven innings Sunday as the Cardinals fell to the Pirates.
It was a decent outing from Wainwright, who gave up only five hits and struck out seven batters. But he was out-dueled by Pirates starter Edinson Volquez and the Cardinals' ace took his first loss of 2014. Wainwright has a good chance to get back into the win column next time out against a bad Cubs team.

Adam Wainwright struck out nine over seven scoreless innings in Monday's 1-0 victory over the Reds.
Waino walked an uncharacteristic four, but he allowed just three singles and never encountered any real trouble. He threw 105 pitches over the seven frames, which is why he wasn't allowed to continue. The Cardinals defense came undone in the eighth but the club managed to escape without any runs scoring. Wainwright will get the Pirates on the road this weekend.

Adam Wainwright went a Grapefruit League-high eight innings Friday in the Cardinals' shutout of the Nationals.
Trevor Rosenthal finished up the three hitter. Wainwright walked none and struck out seven. The Cards will probably back off him a little bit in his final spring start Wednesday before he pitches on Opening Day.

Adam Wainwright will start for the Cardinals on Opening Day, March 31, against the Reds.
It was an obvious choice for Cardinals manager Mike Matheny. Wainwright finished second in the National League Cy Young Award voting last season after going 19-9 with a 2.94 ERA, 1.068 WHIP, and 219/35 K/BB ratio in 241 2/3 innings. He'll be a fantasy ace again in 2014.

Adam Wainwright has been named the 2013 National League Gold Glove winner at pitcher.
It's the second Gold Glove for Wainwright, who also won in back in 2009. He beats out the Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin and the Dodgers' Zack Greinke for the award.

Adam Wainwright recorded 10 strikeouts but suffered his second loss of the World Series Monday, allowing three runs over seven frames against the Red Sox.
Wainwright hung an 0-2 curveball with one out in the first that Dustin Pedroia banged for a double, and David Ortiz pulled another double down the line on the next pitch. The back breaker came in the seventh, when David Ross plated the go-ahead run with a ground rule double and then Jacoby Ellsbury provided an insurance run with a two-out bloop single. Though he's pitched pretty well in two of the starts, Waino has lost each of his last three postseason outings.
