Sanchez (finger) will throw live batting practice Thursday, Steve Buffery of the Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
If all goes well in the live BP session, Sanchez will then begin a rehab assignment with High-A Dunedin, where he will require at least a couple starts before progressing to a higher level, per manager John Gibbons. It sounds like a mid-July return to the big-league rotation would be the best-case scenario at this point.

Sanchez (finger) threw a bullpen session Friday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is big news, as it marks the first time the embattled right-hander has been on a mound since May 19. Sanchez should continue to ramp up his activity on the mound in the coming days before embarking on a rehab assignment, although a firm timetable for those steps has yet to be determined.

Sanchez (finger) is expected to throw off a mound in the next couple days, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander continues to progress well now that his finger is back to 100 percent. He's expected to long toss Tuesday before returning to the mound, after which he'll likely embark on a rehab assignment. Sanchez is still expected to return prior to the All-Star break.

During Wednesday's throwing session, Sanchez said his injured finger feels "tremendous" compared to where it was a couple weeks ago, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a tumultuous first half for last year's breakout performer. Sanchez's evolving finger injury (from blood blisters to a split nail) has limited him to just under 25 innings this season, but the right-hander is confident that his current DL stint (his third of the year) has fixed the problem. "Everything is healed, it's like a brand new nail," said Sanchez. He's not far from rehab assignments, and the team expects him back before the Midsummer Classic.

Sanchez (finger) will need a couple of rehab starts, but manager John Gibbons expects the right-hander to return before the All-Star break, Rob Longley of The Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Frustrated with the recurring injury, Sanchez and the team decided to slow things down during his third trip to the DL this year. He's started just five games in 2017, although one was cut short after an inning due to blistering. There's no way Sanchez can provide fantasy owners what they paid for on draft day, but a healthy return should at least allow the young gun to be fresh for a second-half surge.

Sanchez (finger) played catch Monday, marking his first throwing session since May 19, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to SB Nation's Mark Colley, the Blue Jays are "pleased" with how the right-hander's finger has progressed, although it's unclear when Sanchez will return to MLB action. Sanchez has been working out and staying in fine shape, so once the club is confident he's over the blister issues, it shouldn't take long for him to be activated. Considering how long he's been out, though, Sanchez will likely require a rehab start or two before rejoining the Jays. Either way, Monday's throwing session is a step in the right direction for the 24-year-old.

Sanchez (finger) will play catch Monday and increase his activity thereafter if he gets through the session unscathed, Toronto play-by-play announcer Mike Wilner reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blister issues have marred the early part of Sanchez's season, but he told reporters Saturday that he believes the most recent one is completely healed. Sanchez will test it out with a side session Monday before hopefully ramping up to bullpens shortly afterwards. Joe Biagini will likely continue to hold down a spot in the rotation until Sanchez returns.

Sanchez (finger) is expected to play catch Sunday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
If this plan comes to fruition, this would be the first time that Sanchez would be able to play catch since going on the disabled list. The 24-year-old seems to be content with a lengthy rehab process, so it wouldn't be too surprising for him to take things very slowly in his recovery process. Nonetheless, it's good to see Sanchez finally make some progress toward returning to the mound.

As of Wednesday morning, Sanchez (finger) has no timeline for returning from his third DL stint of the season, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nicholson-Smith also reported that Sanchez said his injury is "not getting any better." The right-hander's finger issue has been an evolving ailment this season. It was first a blister, then a cracked nail and now a blood blister that's formed under the nail of his right middle digit. "The only thing that's going to help it heal is not doing anything, not playing catch, just letting it heal," Sanchez said. "If it's going to take 30 days to find an answer for the rest of my career, then so be it." The 24-year-old is likely to need one or two minor-league rehab starts once he's ready to return. From the sound of it, owners should settle in and make some long-term plans to offset the loss of last year's breakout pitcher.

Sanchez was placed on the 10-day DL on Saturday with a middle finger laceration, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
The finger issues continue to haunt Sanchez -- this marks his third trip to the DL already this season. He touched 97 mph with his fastball and mixed in his curveball regularly Friday en route to a quality start, but Sanchez admitted after the game that he was still dealing with "a little" pain in his middle finger. He will be eligible to return as soon as May 30.
