Sanchez (finger) will begin throwing off a mound in Baltimore this weekend, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez continues to work his way back from a blister, as he's been able to throw a bit over the past week, but nothing from the mound at this point. If all systems check out during this weekend's session, it appears likely that he will be able to rejoin the team in the near future, taking on a bullpen role for the rest of this season. Sanchez still lacks a timetable, but a more definitive outlook should appear following his time on the mound.

Sanchez (finger) continues to throw without blister issues or tenderness and may throw off a mound soon, but he still doesn't have a firm timetable to return, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander may not be rushed to return if the Blue Jays, who sit at a manageable but not ideal five games back in the wild card race, find less and less to play for in the 2017 season. Still, the club will want Sanchez to log at least a few outings if possible so they can assess his condition before the offseason. The changes made to the production of baseballs this year might have hurt the way many pitchers can grip the seams, and Sanchez seems to fit that bill, feeling pain physically and statistically. It'll be interesting to monitor how he adjusts his approach in 2017 and heading into next year, when he could wind up as an enticing fantasy value buy.

Sanchez (finger) is set to begin throwing off flat ground prior to the club's game against Chicago on Saturday, Arash Madani of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
This will be the first time that Sanchez plays catch since re-landing on the disabled list almost a month ago. The right-hander is battling a blister issue that has been a significant problem for him all season, as this is the fourth time in 2017 that Sanchez is on the DL because of a blister. Toronto will reevaluate Sanchez after he throws the ball around Saturday, but there remains a chance that we've seen the last of him this season if it becomes apparent that he cannot return to the mound in time.

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Wednesday that Sanchez (finger) is scheduled to start throwing within a couple of days, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez is on the disabled list for a fourth time this season due to a recurring blister on a finger of his hand, but the 25-year-old isn't quite ready to throw in the towel just yet. The Blue Jays will likely just have Sanchez play catch off flat ground initially before assessing his finger and then moving forward in the rehab process. Even if Sanchez incurs no further setbacks with the finger, given the multiple hurdles he still has to clear in the rehab process, he's still likely multiple weeks away from returning.

Sanchez (finger) hopes he'll be back on the mound this year, but there's a growing chance that he may miss the remainder of the season, Laura Armstrong of The Toronto Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Toronto's potential ace has been sidelined most of the year with nagging blister issues. With less than two months remaining in the regular season, and MiLB campaigns winding down even sooner, the chances for Sanchez to get back on a mound are dwindling. If a rehab assignment in the minors becomes unavailable, then the right-hander could get back in the flow as a reliever. However, the Jays' playoff hopes are fading, and if the club won't make it into October, then there's no reason to activate Sanchez.

Manager John Gibbons said Sanchez (finger) will start ramping up his rehab soon and could come out of the bullpen upon his activation, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injury-plagued Sanchez hasn't pitched since exiting his start on July 19 with a blister and appears to be making slow progress in his overall recovery. Regardless, the option of moving him to the bullpen could allow the young right-hander to build up his arm strength while still increasing his innings count on the season, as he has only made eight starts this year. Expect a firmer commitment from the team once Sanchez begins increasing his rehab workload.

Sanchez (blister) went through some light towel work prior to Monday's game, but it remains unclear when he'll be able to resume throwing off a mound, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's safe to say 2017 will end as a major disappointment for Sanchez and his owners. He's made just eight starts -- two of which he was removed from before the third inning due to injury -- and has only one win. With Toronto quickly drowning in the standings, it's fair to wonder if it's even worth bringing Sanchez back from his fourth DL stint of the year.

Sanchez (blister) was placed on the 10-day DL on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
This has become a league-wide epidemic, but aside from perhaps Rich Hill, no starter has had a worse go of it with blisters lately than Sanchez. This marks his fourth trip to the DL due to blisters this season. It's uncertain how much time he'll miss this time around. Joe Biagini and Cesar Valdez are believed to be the top candidates to start in place of Sanchez.

Sanchez, who's flat-ground session was cancelled Friday in favor of a visit from the doctor, will likely require another stint on the disabled list due to his latest blister issue, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has been on the 10-day DL three times already this year because of a blister on his right middle finger. Although Toronto has yet to make a final call, it's highly unlikely -- even if he does avoid the DL -- that Sanchez will make his scheduled start Monday. Right-handers Cesar Valdez and Joe Biagini would be the likely candidates to pick up that day's game against Oakland.

Sanchez (finger) will visit a hand specialist Friday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per manager John Gibbons, a DL stint is still being considered, but the team hopes that this appointment will help shed some light on what the issue is. Sanchez has already landed on the disabled list multiple times this season due to blister issues, so it's certainly reasonable to expect more of the same in this instance.
