Sanchez was forced to exit Wednesday's game against Boston with a blister, Gregor Chisolm of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez's blister problems continue. He has already been on the disabled list three times this season with blister problems and has yet to build up a rhythm this season as well. It's unclear if this injury will result in a fourth disabled list trip quite yet, but given his struggles this year, it's understandable to be pessimistic after this news.

Sanchez (1-2) pitched six innings, allowing one unearned run on seven hits and two walks while striking out four Tigers in Friday's road win.
EDGE Analysis
Who would have imagined last year's Cy Young candidate would win his first game of 2017 in mid-July? That's the case for Sanchez after dealing with a disappointing first half that included three trips to the disabled list for a reoccurring finger injury. He's now got seven starts under his belt, owning a 3.94 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 22:15 K:BB through 32 innings. Owners can only hope that Friday was the beginning of a big rebound effort coming in the second half. Sanchez will head to Beantown on Wednesday to take on the Red Sox in his next start.

Sanchez will start the first game back from the All-Star break on Friday in Detroit, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez was hammered Friday in his return from a finger injury that landed him on the DL for the third time this season. The break should allow him to come out more refined Friday against a mediocre Tiger offense.

Sanchez (0-2) allowed eight runs on seven hits and four walks over 1.2 innings to take the loss Friday against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez (finger) returned from the disabled list after making his last start on May 19, and he was simply dreadful while throwing just 55 pitches before proceeding to wear out the Jays bullpen by making them work for over seven innings. Before this awful start, he had a 3.33 ERA, and it's reasonable to expect that he'll be much better after getting (at least) a week off. He'll make his next start at a time yet to be determined after the All-Star break.

Sanchez (finger) was activated off the DL on Friday, prior to his start against Houston, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez will make his first start since May 19 when he takes the bump against the league-leading Astros on Friday. The right-hander has made two minor-league rehab starts, and although he didn't look to be in top form, he was pain free and experienced no issues which was far more important. In a corresponding move, the team optioned Dominic Leone to Triple-A Buffalo in order to make room on the 25-man roster. The Blue Jays will likely monitor the pitch count of Sanchez, so be cautious to start the 25-year-old against the one of the best offenses in the big leagues under these circumstances.

Sanchez (finger) is expected to be activated from the 10-day disabled list and start Friday's game against the Astros, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though his results (four runs on five hits and three walks in four innings) weren't impressive during his second rehab outing with Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, Sanchez's sported a mid-90s fastball and experienced no physical issues during the start, so the Blue Jays are preparing to usher him back into the big-league rotation. It's expected that Sanchez will throw a routine pre-start bullpen session Wednesday, and if all goes well, the Blue Jays will likely formally clear him for the Friday nod. Sanchez's reentry into the rotation means that Joe Biagini will likely transition back into a bullpen role.

General manager Ross Atkins said Sanchez (finger) will definitely be back for the upcoming series against the Astros, John Lott of The Athletic Toronto reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez was able to get through 4.1 innings during his second rehab start Sunday, and apparently the Blue Jays were content with how his finger responded as he's now set to make his next start for the big club. The 25-year-old, who hasn't pitched since May 19, owns a 3.33 ERA and 18:9 K:BB through five starts (24.1 innings) this season. He's expected to return to the rotation for a difficult matchup against the Astros over the weekend, so it may be wise to give him an opportunity to find his feet before activating him.

Sanchez (finger) made his second rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, covering 4.1 innings and giving up three runs on five hits and three walks. He struck out four batters in the outing.
EDGE Analysis
While the overall numbers weren't great for Sanchez, he sported a fastball that clocked in at 95 miles per hour and provided no indication afterward that he experienced any renewed pain in his fingers. That could put the right-hander in line to make his next start in the big leagues, but the Blue Jays will presumably wait and see how he looks in a between-start bullpen session later this week before rendering a verdict on his status. If Sanchez end up pitching for the Blue Jays this week, he would slot in for the weekend series with the Astros, a difficult matchup that might make fantasy owners reluctant to activate him right away.

Sanchez (finger) said his hand felt great after his first rehab start Tuesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's a good sign for Sanchez, who has been out with finger problems since May 20. The starter is on pace for one more rehab start and then a possible return to the majors, meaning he might be ready to return in time for a weekend series against the Astros before the All-Star break.

Sanchez (finger) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Dunedin on Tuesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez's finger ailment has plagued him throughout the season, taking on forms from a blister to a cracked nail. He and the club decided to allow ample time for recovery by taking an extended stay on the disabled list, and he appears to finally have it under control. There's always a risk of the issue resurfacing at a later date, but Sanchez will attempt to take another step in his recovery Monday by pitching in his first game since May. He's expected to require at least two rehab outings, potentially allowing him to return prior to the All-Star break.
