Hamonic will not rejoin Thursday's action after leaving with a lower-body injury.
EDGE Analysis
MSG Networks' Shannon Hogan reports that Hamonic appeared to make knee-to-knee contact prior to leaving the game. It's an unfortunate situation for the 25-year-old blueliner, who saw just 2:56 of ice time before suffering the injury. An extended absence could have an impact on both on the fantasy playoffs and the Isles' chase to earn a bid, but the team should update his status over the next couple days, clarifying his timetable.

Hamonic tallied a goal on two shots, two hits and seven PIM in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic lit the lamp on Tuesday after not scoring in his previous seven outings. With 21 games to go, the 25-year-old has now tied his career high in goals with five on the season. He's still only has 16 points on the season, and doesn't had much offensively to your fantasy team. He has racked up a whopping 127 hits in 56 games, though, so he has some value in the deeper leagues.

Hamonic is unlikely to be traded before the deadline, reports Arthur Staple of Newsday.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic requested a trade from the Islanders to a western Canadian team before the season started for personal reasons. General manager Garth Snow has just not been able to find the best match for the team. The biggest problem is that Hamonic has a contract that counts only $3.857 against the cap and is signed for the next four years and Snow just can't find an equal defenseman with that kind of value. This is not to say a trade can't happen, but it may be an easier deal to make once the season has concluded.

Hamonic (foot) will play Friday night against the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
More offense was expected of Hamonic than what he's been able to produce thus far, and a foot injury that wiped four games from his campaign is not helping matters. Hopefully, the 25-year-old can get back on track since he's on pace for only 11 assists and 14 points this campaign after setting up 28 scores from the blue line in 2014-15.

Hamonic (foot) is expected to play Friday versus Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic has practiced all week and hasn't reported any problems with his foot. The tell tale sign that he is likely to play Friday is not only did he join the team on the road trip, but the organization also didn't call up anyone from the AHL to possibly replace him.

Hamonic (foot) looking like he will play Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic skated Wednesday for the third straight day and coach Jack Capuano stated after practice that if Hamonic doesn't have a setback Thursday that he won't be afraid to put him in the lineup Friday versus the Senators. The Islanders do play back to back games Friday and Saturday so there is always a chance the team holds him out until Saturday if they don't want to play him in back to back games as soon as he returns. Either way this is good news for the Isles as they need reinforcements on their blue line with Adam Pelech and Johnny Boychuk nursing injuries of their own.

Hamonic (foot) could play Friday in Ottawa, reports Newsday.
EDGE Analysis
This would seem to be a long shot but the Islanders are leaving open the possibility that Hamonic could play Friday and/or Saturday should he continue his progress this week. The Isles have been bit hard by the injury bug on defense with Johnny Boychuk (shoulder) and Adam Pelech (undisclosed) out in addition to Hamonic. Will they Isles feel the need to push Hamonic back into the lineup with the All-Star break right around the corner? The Isles only have three games left before the break. Perhaps they play it safe and give Hamonic the extra time to make sure he is 100% healthy.

Hamonic (foot) skated before practice Monday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic reportedly skated before practice Monday for just the second time since fracturing his foot in early January. While he took a step in the right direction by skating, the defenseman is just about a week into his 2-to-3 week timetable. He'll need to rejoin practice before joining his teammates on the ice sheet, so it wouldn't be surprising if he's out through the All-Star break. Hamonic was also the center of some trade talks prior to the injury, but it's unclear if that will be the case when he returns.

Hamonic (lower body) was ruled out for 2-3 weeks on Monday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Given the All-Star break is at the end of Hamonic's current timetable for a return, his most likely return to the ice for live action will be Feb. 2 against the Wild. Marek Zidlicky seems to be the favorite for additional ice time in the duration of Hamonic's absence.

Hamonic (lower body) is unlikely to play Tuesday versus the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
The Islanders have stated that the injury is not serious but if Hamonic is indeed out it would be the second game he has missed. With Johnny Boychuk already on the shelf it is imperative that the Islanders get Hamonic back in the lineup as soon as possible.
