Hamonic (knee) skated on his own before practice Thursday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic is still without a clear timetable for a return to the team. His next step would seem to be a return to practice before Doug Weight can consider playing him in a game. Hamonic was considered to be the team's best defensive defenseman entering the season but his play had slipped before the injury. Still, the team will welcome him back to help solidify a back end that has given up 27 goals over their past seven games.

Hamonic (knee) still isn't ready to skate, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic is considered to be the Isles best defensive defenseman but was having a subpar season before the injury. The Islanders haven't stated the exact nature of what is wrong with his knee but he isn't expected to skate for at least two more weeks which means a return to the lineup before late February would seem unlikely.

Hamonic (knee) was described as being week-to-week, effectively ruling him out for at least the Isles' next four outings, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic, who remains on injured reserve, has already missed New York's last four contests. The team is 2-2-0 without the blueliner in the lineup and are having to rely heavily on youngster Adam Pelech to pick up the slack. It is unlikely the organization is in any hurry to rush Hamonic back onto the ice after firing coach Jack Capuano and seemingly cutting their losses on the 2016-17 campaign.

The Islanders placed Hamonic (knee) on injured reserve Thursday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic wasn't expected to return until Monday at the earliest so this move will allow the team to call up another defender to replace him on the roster. He suffered the injury Saturday versus Arizona in a knee on knee collision. Hamonic has had a subpar season to date, especially in the defensive zone as he is a minus 14 in 35 games this season. He will return to the first defensive pairing when healthy however.

Hamonic (lower body) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
This was expected to be the case, as the two-way defenseman had been held out of practice leading up to the contest. Adam Pelech will be the replacement for Hamonic, whose next chance to draw into a game will be Friday, when the Islanders face the Panthers on the road.

Hamonic (lower body) is doubtful to play in Wednesday's game against the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic is officially day-to-day with his ailment, which opens to door for Adam Pelech to draw into the next game. Considering that the former has already amassed 43 hits and 75 blocked shots this campaign, the Isles may be lacking a physical edge in the next contest, but Hamonic owns the worst rating (minus-14) on the team, so he was probably due for a day off anyway.

Hamonic was absent from Monday's practice as he was dealing with a lower-body injury, Steven Marcus of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Hamonic did finish Saturday's game, he played just 18:54 of ice time, nearly two minutes less than his season average. The defender is a confounding minus-14 this year, and while he has not contributed at a level fantasy owners may have expected out of him, he remains one of the Isles' top blueliners. If the 26-year-old is unable to suit up against the Panthers on Wednesday, Adam Pelech will likely be pressed into service.

Hamonic (arm) will suit up against the Lightning on Monday, Brian Compton of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite initial reports of a 4-to-6 week absence for Hamonic, he returns to the lineup after missing a mere three games. The 26-year-old's return could not be better timed for the Isles, who just placed veteran Dennis Seidenberg on injured reserve. It is unclear what sort of impact Hamonic can have on Monday's matchup or how many minutes he will log, but even banged up, the defenseman is capable of providing top-end value on the blue line.

Hamonic (arm) was designated for injured reserve Monday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic is expected to miss at least four weeks after suffering a broken arm. The team has placed him on IR retroactively, which would allow him to return slightly sooner if he is ready. Prior to getting hurt on Nov. 5, the 26-year-old was averaging 21:01 of ice time per night, but was struggling defensively at a minus-7. With the Manitoba native sidelined, the Isles called up Adam Pelech from AHL Bridgeport Sound.

Hamonic (arm) will be out 4-6 weeks, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic left Saturday's game in the first period holding his arm, and many speculated it could be broken. With the 4-6 week diagnosis, it very well could be, but it hasn't been officially announced as broken. The defenseman had been playing fairly well to start the season, but that will be put on delay until early December at the earliest.
