Hamonic suffered an arm/wrist injury in the Islanders 4-3 shootout loss to Edmonton on Saturday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic blocked a shot during the first period and immediately left the ice. He went off holding his right arm and never returned. Early speculation is that there could be broken bone. An update on Hamonic is expected Sunday but it is extremely unlikely that he will be ready to play Monday versus Vancouver.

Hamonic left Saturday's game against the Oilers with an upper-body injury and will not return, Denis Gorman of AP Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear the nature of the injury but given it was announced he won't return relatively early on in the contest, it could be on the more serious side. Prior to the blueliner's exit, he recorded a blocked shot over 6:10 of ice time.

Hamonic found twine in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
That's back-to-back games with goals for the 26-year-old defenseman. While it's not sustainable, Hamonic is working with a ridiculous shooting percentage of 15.4 through nine contests. He's a bit fortunate that the shots are falling, as his minus-5 rating would look even worse if that hadn't been the case.

Hamonic scored a goal and added an assist with five shots on net and five blocked shots during Thursday's loss to the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic is a meat-and-potatoes defenseman who tips the scales across the peripheral categories and offers modest offensive production. This was his best game of the season by leaps and bounds, as Hamonic entered Thursday with just two points and a minus-8 rating through seven games. Look for him to be a solid cross-category contributor capable of rounding out your defense corps going forward.

Hamonic is a minus seven through four games this season.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic has always been known as a strong defender but has struggled mightily in his own zone so far this season. His partner, Nick Leddy has also had issues which makes you wonder if Hamonic is off his game trying to cover for the mistakes that Leddy has been making. Hamonic will never be an offensive dynamo on the blue line but if he can't help keep the puck out of his own net than he will have little to no fantasy value going forward.

Hamonic has reversed course and is no longer looking to be traded away by the Islanders, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic originally put his request in at the start of the season, citing family reasons for moving closer to western Canada. The news likely comes as a huge relief for general manager Garth Snow who is no longer in the market for a top-end blueliner and can continue building on the success of the 2015-16 season. While Hamonic is not going to put up huge offensive numbers, he logs a ton of minutes, 23:49 per game this year, including helping out shorthanded.

Hamonic (knee) will play Thursday night against the PanthersBrian Compton of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hamonic's return is great news for the Isles as he has been out since March 31 after sustaining a knee injury. The 25-year-old defenseman typically averaged 23:49 of ice time and held a consistent spot on the top lines throughout the regular season. His physical, defensive style of play may be a useful asset to the Islanders' success in combating the top line of the opposing team this postseason.

Hamonic (knee) seems likely to play Thursday as the Islanders open up the playoffs in Florida, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is nothing short of great news for the Islanders who didn't have Hamonic in their opening round loss to the Capitals last season. He is arguably their best defender. Hamonic has skated with the team all week and unless he were to wake up Wednesday with unusual soreness or swelling in that knee, he should be good to go Game 1 on Thursday.

Hamonic (knee) participated in a full practice Saturday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
While this is a great sign for the Islanders and Hamonic about his availability for the playoffs, he still won't play Saturday or Sunday. Hamonic may be the key to the Islanders success this postseason as they will need him to combat the top line of the opposing team.

Hamonic (lower body) has been ruled out for the rest of the regular season.
EDGE Analysis
The Isles' stalwart suffered the injury in Thursday's win against Columbus while taking a hit from Jackets forward Scott Hartnell. Hamonic is a huge loss for the Islanders, as he eats up around 24 minutes of ice per game while bringing a constant physical presence. The positive for the Islanders and Hamonic is that they are in a good position to make the postseason, and Hamonic has a chance to be return for the start playoffs.
