Hamonic scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 3-0 win over New Jersey.
He might hit 30 points this year -- these points gave him 29. Even then, he has established a new career high. We'd like to see him manage his play a bit better though -- he's never played a full season and injuries have taken him off the ice far too many times. He could be a 30-35 point guy who also delivers 200 hits and 140 blocks. There's real value in specialty formats with those kind of numbers.

Hamonic made his presence felt with an assist, plus-3 rating and five hits in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Maple Leafs.Hamonic is on a roll with at least one assist in four straight games. His recent offensive surge is partly due to his budding chemistry with emerging forward Anders Lee. While Hamonic won't drop jaws in any single category, he remains a serviceable option with or without the puck.

Hamonic collected two assists in Sunday's win over the Sabres.
Hamonic has been producing steadily since early-January, recording eight points (all assists) in his last 11 outings. He's a solid all-around fantasy option, averaging 21:33 of ice time, contributing on the power play, picking up 64 PIM and notching a plus-5 rating. The 24-year-old is worth looking at, as the Islanders have some great offensive firepower up front that Hamonic can benefit from. He's well on his way to surpassing his previous career-high of 26 points.

Hamonic recorded an assist in Thursday's loss to the Bruins.
Hamonic has quietly increased his involvement offensively the last two weeks, recording four assists and 15 shots over his last six contests. With no 30-point seasons on his resume, it's hard to envision Hamonic sustaining this level of production going forward, but he's probably still somebody worth monitoring.

Hamonic notched an assist in Tuesday's loss to the Canucks.
Hamonic holds down a top-four role on defense for the Islanders, but he doesn't provide nearly the offensive upside that teammates Nick Leddy and Johnny Boychuk do from the blue line. He has nine points in 30 games this season, instead offering more significant contributions in PIM (52), hits (99) and blocks (63).

Hamonic (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Friday.
After he was able to practice over the last several days, Hamonic will be cleared to rejoin the lineup following a six-game absence. He doesn't offer many contributions in the scoring categories, but his steady play on his own end will be welcomed by an Islanders squad that suffered from uneven play defensively in recent back-to-back losses to the Blues.

Hamonic (upper body) is expected to play Friday versus the Red Wings, according to Newsday.
Hamonic has missed the last six games due to the injury and will be a welcome addition to an Islander defense that has missed his toughness in their own zone. Hamonic should be paired with Calvin de Haan once again.
