Thomas falls to 16-20-3 this season, and will now have to compete with newcomer Roberto Luongo for starts down the stretch.

Thomas only won once in February and two victories in his last seven games played. It's been an up-and-down campaign for Thomas overall, as he's 15-19-3 with a .908 save percentage and 2.86 GAA.

Tim Thomas allowed four goals on 30 shots in Florida's 4-1 loss to the Blue Jackets on Saturday night. Thomas did not have a good night during a game that could've swung the other way with some better goaltending. This marks the third straight game he's give up at least four goals and seventh straight giving up at least three. Thomas has a 2.79 goals-against average a and .911 save percentage this season.

Look for Tim Thomas between the pipes for Saturday night's game against Columbus. He did not look too good against his former club, the Bruins, Tuesday night as he allowed six goals, but the Jackets will be far less formidable.

Tim Thomas isn't expected to be fined or suspended for his goalie stick chop to the side of Boston's Carl Soderberg helmet in Tuesday's game. "Nobody was really running into me until the end there," Thomas said after the game. "Soderberg, the play before that he did quite a hard jab and then all of the sudden the puck is up in the air, you're catching it, and his stick is in my throat. With less than a minute left in a game and they're up by four goalsI took exception to that." Soderberg was fine and Thomas will probably be in goal for Thursday's game against Toronto.
