Steve Mason's lousy season continues as he allowed four goals on just 22 shots in a 4-1 defeat to the Chicago Blackhawks. Mason's numbers have been terrible this season, with a 4-15-1 record, a 3.55 GAA and .877 save percentage. The Blue Jackets likely wish that Curtis Sanford was available, but it appears that he might be dealing with an injury.

Steve Mason will play between the pipes on Monday. It will be Mason's first start since he allowed five goals on 33 shots on December 18th. Mason has been terrible this season, but now Curtis Sanford is struggling soon. Columbus is one of two teams still searching for their 10th win and they're last in the NHL with 22 points in 34 games.

Steve Mason allowed five goals on 33 shots Sunday as Columbus was beaten by the Blues by a score of 6-4. The loss was Mason's second straight after winning his first decision following injury. He remains a risky option in fantasy leagues.

Steve Mason stopped 25 of the 28 shots he faced in a 3-2 loss to Columbus on Saturday night. Steve Mason came off a terrific start but could not lead the Jackets to victory Saturday night. Mason played admirably but not strong enough to reclaim the starting job. Mason will need to find ways to steal wins for Columbus in order to return to the starting role.

Steve Mason will start in Saturday's game. Mason was great on Tuesday, but the question is if he can be consistently good. He's had strong starts over the last few years, but they've been lost in a sea of terrible performances.

Steve Mason was forced to leave Tuesday's contest versus Vancouver after he experienced "some major cramping" in his right quadriceps. He required two liters of intravenous fluid after the game, but is feeling hydrated and fine now. Mason was making his first appearance since Nov. 15, but he won't wait that long again and should share time with Curtis Sanford. "Is he perfect? No. Has he made a great improvement? Yes," coach Scott Arniel said referring to Mason. "Now, to me, I have two goaltenders. Now I have two guys who can give us a chance to win hockey games. We'll use them accordingly."

Steve Mason stopped 30 of 31 shots en route to a 2-1 shootout victory over Vancouver Tuesday. It was a weird night for Mason, who was making his first start since November 15th and appeared to suffer a serious injury late in the third period. Curtis Sanford entered the game for all of three minutes before Mason returned to finish out the victory.

Steve Mason will make his first start between the pipes for Columbus since Nov. 15 Welcome back Steve Mason, you get the red-hot Canucks tonight. Coach Scott Arniel told Mason on Saturday that he would be in goal this evening. Curtis Sanford has had a nice run for the Blue Jackets, but Arniel wants to get Mason some action and see how he responds against a top-flight opponent. Mason is 3-12-1 with a 3.63 GAA and .875 save percentage this season. Only Washington's Michal Neuvirth has a lower save percentage (.873) among goalies that have appeared in at least 10 games.

Steve Mason will probably play between the pipes on Tuesday. That would end Curtis Sanford's stretch of 12 straight starts. This change isn't surprising, seeing as Sanford has allowed three or more goals in five of his last six starts. That being said, Steve Mason has been terrible this season with a 3.63 GAA and .875 save percentage in 16 starts, so we doubt he's the solution. Keep in mind that if Mason continues to struggle and Sanford doesn't get hot again, that Mark Dekanich (groin) is still a viable option once he's healthy.

Steve Mason is ready to return to the Columbus net when he is needed. Mason has struggled all season and has actually struggled since his rookie season when he was awarded the Calder Trophy and the Blue Jackets thought their goaltending problems would be fixed for the next ten years. But that has not been the case and now veteran journeyman Curtis Sanford has taken over between the pipes and will continue to do so while he is hot. Mason missed three games last week after he took a shot off his mask during practice. A lot of people thought he suffered a concussion but he is fine now. "I'm not sure if it was a concussion," Mason said, "but we dealt with it as if it was. I just had headaches for a couple of days afterward, but I'm fine now. We did the concussion test, and things are good." He is not worth a spot on your fantasy roster at this time, unless he is related to you.
