Steve Mason's victory on Saturday was the 100th of his career.
Mason won the Calder Trophy in 2008-09, but he was never able to replicate that success in Columbus. A change of scenery seems to have served him well as he posted a 1.90 GAA and .944 save percentage in seven games with Philadelphia. That being said, Mason is a huge gamble in 2013-14, even in the unlucky scenario where Ilya Bryzgalov gets bought out over the summer.

Steve Mason blocked 43 shots in the Flyers' 2-1 victory versus the Senators on Saturday night.
Mason finishes the season with four straight wins and a 1.90 goals-against average and .944 save percentage since being traded to Philadelphia. It's unclear whether Ilya Bryzgalov will be bought out this offseason, but at least the Flyers now have someone in Mason who might thrive in with a fresh start.

Steve Mason was very good in Tuesday's win over Boston.
He blocked 39 of 41 shots in a 5-2 victory to give him three wins in his past three starts for the Flyers. Mason has gotten off to a strong start in Philadelphia since being acquired from Columbus, which has fueled speculation about a possible buyout for Ilya Bryzgalov; although the team has denied they are considering that as an option.

The Flyers announced Steve Mason will start in net Tuesday night.
There's been a debate as to whether Mason or Ilya Bryzgalov should start the Flyers' final three games of the season. The two have essentially traded starts since Mason joined Philly in the trade-deadline deal and Mason has played pretty well, posting a 2.09 GAA and .931 save percentage in five games. There's a chance the Flyers will buy out Bryz over the summer, which means they might take the next three games to see what they have in Mason.

A Philadelphia Daily News writer argued that the Philadelphia Flyers should start Steve Mason for all of their remaining three games.
The Flyers might buyout goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov this summer and Philadelphia has no chance of making the playoffs. With that in mind, Philadelphia could use their remaining contests as a tryout period for Mason. He's gotten off to a good start with the Flyers, posting a 2.09 GAA and .931 save percentage in five games. However, we've seen Mason have good stretches with the Blue Jackets before eventually collapsing once more. Regardless of how the Flyers handle their goaltending situation over the next three games, Mason will be a big risk in 2013-14. However, Mason will also be a far cheaper risk than Bryzgalov has been.

The Flyers really want to see what Mason can give them in the event they use their buyout to end their relationship with Ilya Bryzgalov.

Steve Mason was battling cramps caused by dehydration in Tuesday's win against the New York Rangers.
However, he stayed in the game and ended up with 38 saves on 40 shots to get his first win as a member of the Flyers. Mason is trying to earn points with his new team and he's also been trying to learn new things from Philadelphia's goaltending coach Jeff Reese. "It's a fresh start with an entire new organization, new fans, teammates, just a breath of fresh air," Mason said. "We've been working on things. The main thing has been reducing my depth off the rush and making my game more simple. I'm 6-4, and I can take up a lot of the net, more than most guys."

Steve Mason posted 38 saves Tuesday night in a 4-2 win over the New York Rangers.
The victory was his first with Philadelphia since being acquired from Columbus and if his injury scare late in the contest proves to be nothing then it could lead to another start soon.
