Mason has been hot of late, posting a 3-0-0 record with an outstanding 1.00 GAA and .946 save percentage in his last three outings. The 27-year-old netminder will look to pick up a fourth consecutive win Saturday in a tough road matchup with a Panthers team averaging 2.86 goals per game at home this season, 10th in the NHL.

Mason beat the Lightning for the second straight game Friday, making 18 of 19 saves in a 3-1 win.

EDGE Analysis

The Bolts certainly didn't make things very difficult for Mason in their back-to-back set (that happened to come four days apart), as they only mustered 37 shots on goal over both games. Mason's owners surely won't mind, as he's now won three games in a row to improve his record to 16-15-7 to go with a .916 save percentage and 2.56 GAA this year.

While his splits favor his starts at the home rink (2.24 GAA, .928 save percentage), it's probably best to avoid him in season-long formats. He could still be an option in daily contests as a cheaper option with low ownership, though definitely a risky one.

Mason earned his fourth shutout of the season and 30th of his career with a 19-save, 6-0 win over the Blue Jackets on Saturday night.

EDGE Analysis

Mason established the terms for his excellence on the first shot of the game when he snared Nick Foligno's rip just 50 seconds into the game. He needed the game -- he'd been on the bench for the Flyers' last five and seven of eight. Mason deserves another start, but it's hard to know what might happen, what with Michael Neuvirth playing so well.

Mason didn't have an injury like some may have suspected at the time, and the Flyers have not called up another backstop ahead of Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes, further indicating that Mason is fine. Still, the team reportedly will start Michal Neuvirth between the pipes in the upcoming home match.

Mason left Saturday's game at the 3:16 point of the third period after appearing to injure himself when the Leafs scored their third goal.

He was seen at the bench getting assistance with his right knee, which he seemed to grab after a minor collision with the Leafs' Nazem Kadri. Mason seemed to be fine soon after, but was not put back in the game. He did spend considerable time re-hydrating, so perhaps it was more illness related than anything else.
