Darling will get the start in net Wednesday against the Rangers, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports. Darling will receive the nod in the second game of a back-to-back set as his mates picked up a win Thursday against the Islanders. The 26-year-old has been reliable when called upon this year with a 6-3-0 record, 2.18 GAA, and .930 save percentage, but will draw a tough matchup against the third-highest scoring team in the league.

Darling was victimized for four goals on 29 shots by the league's highest scoring team in a 4-0 loss to Tampa Bay on Friday. Because he's only been between the pipes nine times this season, his GAA actually spiked from 1.96 to 2.18 after this one. Still, Darling has been quite serviceable when called up in relief of Corey Crawford and/or Antti Raanta, posting a 6-3-0 record and a .930 save percentage. We'd love to recommend him as one of the best streaming options among backup goaltenders, but with the Blackhawks' recent inconsistency and the fact that Antti Raanta is lurking at AHL Rockford waiting to be recalled, Darling is probably best suited to your watch list.

Darling will get the start in net Friday against Tampa Bay, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports. Friday will mark Darling's ninth NHL start this season. He has a tough matchup on Friday, as Tampa Bay leads the league in average goals scored per game. Darling has been excellent for Chicago this year, going 6-2-0 with a 1.96 GAA and a .938 save percentage through eight games with the Hawks this season. Despite the poor matchup, Darling remains a solid fantasy play on Friday.

Darling made his first NHL start in more than two months Tuesday, stopping 34 of 36 in a shootout win over Florida. Darling's last start came on Dec. 13, but he got the call to mix things up and get Antti Raanta some extra work in the AHL. Darling's now 6-2 in his eight NHL starts, and he's allowed just 16 goals in that span, posting a .938 save percentage. Anytime he gets the call, he should find his way into a lot of fantasy lineups.

Darling, who started in goal for the Blackhawks on Tuesday, inked a two-year contract extension with the club before Tuesday's game, Chicago ESPN reported. Darling, a Chicago-area native, has been a big surprise for the Blackhawks in goal this season. He will be paid $575,000 next season and $600,000 in the 2016-17 season. Darling proved to be capable during two previous stints in the NHL, going 5-2-0 with a 1.97 goals-against average and .937 save percentage. He also remained consistent at AHL's Rockford and has gone 14-8-2 with a 2.20 goals-against average and .927 save percentage. Depending on the future of Corey Crawford in the offseason, Darling could be in line for more starts next season. He could supplant Antti Raanta as the backup goalie this season, but Darling will most likely continue to get more starts in Rockford.

Darling -- who last appeared in a game with the big club on Dec. 13 -- has compiled a 5-2-0 record, while posting a .937 save percentage and 1.97 GAA during his time with the Hawks earlier this season.

Darling was reassigned to AHL Rockford on Wednesday, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports. After starting the Blackhawks' first four games following Corey Crawford's foot injury and playing generally well, Darling looked like he might stick around as the team's top backup over Antti Raanta once Crawford returned. However, Raanta ended up drawing the team's most recent two starts and acquitted himself well, so it looks like he'll stay with the Blackhawks while Darling settles for regular duty at Rockford. Overall on the season, Darling owns a 5-2-0 record, 1.97 GAA and .937 save percentage across seven outings with the parent club.

Darling made 38 saves in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Islanders. He stopped a lot of rubber, but couldn't hold a 2-1 lead in the third, allowing two goals in less than a minute. He had won four straight and three times in a six-day span before the loss. The loss won't depress his value any -- he's still the de facto starter in the Windy City.

Darling will draw the start in goal Saturday against the Islanders, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports. Since rejoining the Blackhawks in the wake of Corey Crawford's injury, Darling has taken the reins of the No. 1 goalie job, going 3-0 with a 1.62 GAA and .945 save percentage over his three turns. Crawford is expected to return at some point next week, but Darling has made a strong argument that he should stick around as the Blackhawks' backup goalie over Antti Raanta. He remains a solid play Saturday, despite his relative lack of NHL experience.
