With a four-game losing streak and losses in 13 of his past 14 starts, Smith simply can't be counted on to deliver promising results Saturday, despite the ratio improvement he's shown in defeat the last few times out.

Smith stopped 34 of 35 shots he faced Monday, but took a tough luck 1-0 loss at the hands of the Kings. Although Smith has allowed two or fewer goals in four of his last five starts, this was his fourth loss in a row and his 13th loss in his last 14 starts. With the Coyotes looking toward the future there will be a lot of tough nights for the veteran goalie and his fantasy value is as low as it has ever been since he arrived in Arizona.

Smith was the game's third star Saturday night after delivering a 33-save performance in a 2-0 loss to Montreal. He allowed just a single goal. This has been a season to forget Smith who has suffered through an erosion of confidences and success. Saturday's effort was a strong one, but that doesn't change the fact that they've come too few and far between. There is a small ray of hope, though, in his last two -- he's allowed just three goals total against the Habs and Orcas. Maybe he'll save his career, but he won't save your squad.
