Smith continued his bounce-back season with his first shutout since 2014 in Wednesday's win over Anaheim.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to Wednesday, the last time Smith closed the door on a team was March 4 in a 1-0 win against the Canucks. Now, he can put that drought behind him and focus on leading the Coyotes back to the playoffs. Smith ranks 3rd in the NHL with a .981 save percentage and is tied for 4th with a 0.67 GAA. By now he should be owned in all formats and given seriously consideration in daily lineups while his price tag remains low.

Smith improved to 3-0-0 with a shutout victory in Anaheim on Wednesday, picking up 37 saves in the process.
EDGE Analysis
Smith and the Coyotes continue to prove doubters wrong early in 2015-16. If the team in front of him can keep playing solid hockey, Smith should be able to revert closer to the excellent form he showed prior to the 2014-15 season.

Smith will get the start in net Wednesday against Anaheim, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith has been fantastic thus far this season, posting a 2-0-0 record with a 1.00 GAA and .971 save percentage. He'll look to keep his hot start rolling Wednesday against the Ducks, who have only managed to score once through two games to start the season.

Smith was named the NHL's Third Star of the first week of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Smith finished 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .971 save percentage on the week. What was most impressive was how Smith was able to put last seasons disappointment behind him. He stifled the Kings in the opener, making 40 saves on 41 shots. All Smith did after that performance was follow it up with a 27-save effort against the superstar riddled Penguins at home. Obviously it's still early, but if the veteran goaltender can keep this level of play up, the Coyotes should be able to eclipse their point total of 56 from last season.

Smith saved 27 of 28 shots in a 2-1 win against the Penguins on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Smith had another impressive performance against a high-profile Pittsburgh offense, with Phil Kessel getting the lone goal, to earn his 2nd win of the season on Saturday. Smith closed out the game with 15 straight saves, including multiple outstanding saves late in the game to seal the deal, and has now stopped 67 of 69 shots to start the season.

Smith stopped 40 of 41 shots in Friday's season-opening win over the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
A marvelous start to the season for Smith, who outdueled Kings' netminder Jonathan Quick. The 33-year-old is coming off a down year with Arizona, but kicked off a potential bounce-back campaign in the best way possible Friday night. The workhorse has played at least 60 games in each of his last three full seasons and will be relied on heavily once again in 2015-16. The Coyotes are gushing with promising prospects, but expect some growing pains as players such as Max Domi and Anthony Duclair adjust to the game at the NHL level. Smith has come close to 40 wins before in his career, so if he can build off this strong start and rediscover his elite skill that disappeared in 2014-15, he could be a very productive fantasy asset this year.

Smith will start Friday's game against the Kings, Dave Vest of the Coyotes reports.
EDGE Analysis
As Arizona's top goaltender, Smith will get the start in the team's regular season opener. He and the Coyotes will be hoping for better results this season after Smith posted a career-high 3.16 GAA in the previous campaign.

Smith is expected to start in goal for Friday's season opener against the Kings, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith will be between the pipes to start his fifth season with the Coyotes. He began seeing a sports psychologist during the offseason in order to bounce back from the worst season of his career. Arizona is still rebuilding and likely won't give Smith much help in the win column. Even if he bounces back, He offers little value in standard leagues and should only be employed in spot starts.

Smith stopped 23 of 24 shots in a 1-0 loss to the Canucks on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Smith played the whole game, suggesting that he's no worse for the wear after missing last Friday's game against the Sharks. He'll likely pick up most of the starts for the 'Yotes this season.

Smith was slated to play in Friday's exhibition game against the Sharks but is said to be dealing with soreness, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports, with Coyotes head coach Dave Tippett saying, "We'll err on the side of caution."
EDGE Analysis
Smith was replaced in the lineup by Louis Domingue, a system backstop who signed a one-year, two-way deal with the 'Yotes in early September. This may have been a good excuse to give Domingue a longer look, as Smith should retain the starting goalie duties in 2015-16 despite coming off a poor campaign in which he posted a 3.16 GAA and .904 save percentage. Anders Lindback is likely pegged for backup duty in Arizona.
