Smith is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Islanders, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Smith will try to help the Coyotes' end a six-game slide on Tuesday, but he'll have his work cut out for him up against an Isles' squad that is tied for second in the Eastern Conference with 80 points to date.

Smith surrendered two goals on 27 shots in Monday's 3-0 loss to the Devils.
It's the fifth straight loss for Smith and seventh in his last eight starts. The good news is that his own performance was better on Monday as he had allowed 11 goals in his last three, but his overall numbers aren't getting any better as he's 10-27-5 with a 3.23 GAA and .896 save percentage. Smith should receive nearly every start the rest of the way, but he'll make for a risky fantasy play nonetheless.

Smith gave up three goals on 26 shots in Saturday's loss to the Lightning. It was the third straight loss for Smith, who has given up at least three goals in each of his last three starts. While he had been playing better of late, Smith's lackluster .895 save percentage and 3.26 GAA on the season are quite the letdown. He plays a lot of games, but has just 10 wins, something that will happen when you're the goaltender for the offensively challenged Coyotes.

Smith is dealing with an illness and will not get the start on Monday against the Avalanche, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports. It doesn't seem as though it's a particularly serious ailment as coach Dave Tippett said Smith still could've played, but they'll turn to backup Mike McKenna to air on the side of caution. The Coyotes have the next four days off, so Smith could be back in net for their next game against the Lightning on Saturday.

Smith let in five goals on 32 shots Saturday in a loss to the Rangers.Smith had been playing well recently, allowing less than three goals in five of his last six game before this one. It has been a disastrous season for Smith and despite being better lately he will face some tough games once the Coyotes start to move their veteran players ahead of the trade deadline.

Smith will get the start between the pipes Saturday against the Rangers, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.Smith has struggled of late, registering losses in three of his last four starts and surrendering at least two goals in each of those contests. It won't get any easier for Smith on Saturday against the Rangers, as New York averages 3.04 goals scored per game, good for fourth best in the NHL. Smith is 10-24-5 with a 3.22 GAA and a .897 save percentage. Fantasy owners should look elsewhere.

Smith allowed three goals on 25 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Sharks. The fourth was an empty netter.Smith's mini-run of improved play (two goals or less in five straight starts) came to an end in this one, dropping his record to a horrendous 10-24-5 this season. His 3.22 GAA and .897 save percentage are way off his career marks of 2.65 and .912, so it's tough to recommend the Olympic gold medalist for any league right now.
