Jordan Eberle and Taylor Hall each enjoyed three-point nights as Oklahoma City eased past Charltte 7-2 on Sunday. That the Barons are among the top scoring teams in the AHL comes as no surprise when they have two very dangerous NHL-caliber forwards to trot out there everyday. Eberle had two goas and an assist, giving him 26 points in 18 games. Hall had a trio of assists, and he now has 15 points in 10 games. It would really be a shame to see a year wasted from the careers of such promising if there's a lost season.

The Oklahoma City Baron's bounty of talented Oilers came through big time again on Sunday, as they beat the Charlotte Checkers 7-2. Jordan Eberle scored two goals (including the game-winner) and also had an assist while Justin Schultz had a tally and three helpers. Taylor Hall also set up two goals in another impressive performance by the overpowered team.

Jordan Eberle has seven goals and 21 points in 16 AHL games this season. For those worried that Eberle's breakout 2011-12 campaign was a fluke, those numbers should provide you with a bit of comfort. Eberle has been particularly hot lately with a goal and five points in his last two games.

The fact that the Edmonton Oilers' core is largely intact in the AHL is something unique to that team and only possible because of just how young their core is. Obviously though, it still would have been better for Edmonton if there was no lockout, so there young players could get more NHL experience. This lockout also hurts Oilers fans, who are being temporarily denied some of the fruits of their patience.

Jordan Eberle generated one goal and three assists in Oklahoma City's 6-5 overtime loss to Toronto. Eberle, who was Edmonton's leading scoring last season, has scored seven goals and 16 points in 13 games with the AHL's Barons. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had two goals and two assists in the contest, while Taylor Hall had one marker and one helper. The Oilers must be pleased that their cornerstone talents are producing well in the minors.

Roussel was given a five-minute major for kneeing and a game misconduct for the infraction. Eberle isn't the only high-profile Edmonton player in the minors that has suffered some abuse, but he's likely to be a target out there because of his skill level. He has two goals and six points in seven games so far.

Playing in the WHL was way worse from a travel point of view. Eberle is off to a bit of a slow start in Oklahoma City with two goals and six points in seven games. He had an outstanding season in the NHL last year with 76 points in 78 games.
