Jordan Eberle will be a game-time decision on Friday.
Eberle left the AHL Oklahoma City Barons' morning skate with an undisclosed ailment. If he can't play, Kristians Pelss will probably be inserted into the lineup.

Jordan Eberle isn't used to the lighter AHL schedule.
"Two games a week. It's like the Western (Hockey) League. That's a weekend league," said Eberle. He's looking for his first point of the season after recording a career-high 76 points in 78 NHL contests in 2011-12. It's also worth noting that the Barons schedule does pick up as the season progresses.

Jordan Eberle and Ryan-Nugent Hopkins didn't suit up in AHL Oklahoma City's two preseason contests.
However, that should probably be expected considering they already have roster spots and the coaching staff wants to see who else should make the team. "They want to play. They're getting sick of practicing, but they understand the situation," coach Todd Nelson said. "They'll be in the lineup come Friday in Cleveland. That's for sure. The decisions we have to make are tough ... a lot tougher than maybe we expected."

Jordan Eberle will wear No. 7 rather than No. 14 during his time in AHL Oklahoma City.
Eberle has been wearing 14 with the Oilers, but he previously wore no. 7 during his junior hockey days. He's expected to stick with Oklahoma City until the lockout ends.

Jordan Eberle will play in the AHL during the lockout.
The Oilers assigned him to the AHL on Saturday. Eberle had a dynamite year in the NHL -- with 76 points. He'll be a man among boys in the minors, that's for sure.

Jordan Eberle, who just signed a six-year/$36 million contract, might end up taking a pay cut like the rest of the players.
The NHL wants an immediate reduction in player salaries, which could impact everyone, including the players who signed deals even as the CBA negotiations were taking place. "It's kind of the same for everybody, it's part of the business side of hockey and you have to deal with it," said Eberle. "But I think I got the number of years I wanted, I wanted to be an Edmonton Oiler for a while. That was important to me." Eberle added, "At the end of the day I get to play hockey for a living, not many guys get to do that."

Edmonton has signed Jordan Eberle to a six-year contract extension worth $36 million.
The 22-year-old led the team with 34 goals and 76 points in 78 games last season. He has enjoyed a strong start to his professional career and will be strong contributor to the team's long-term success. Eberle's signing comes hot off the heels of Taylor Hall being locked up to a seven-year deal last week.

Contract talks between Jordan Eberle and the Edmonton Oilers are still ongoing.
The financial terms will reportedly be roughly on par with Taylor Hall's $6 million per season deal, but the length of the agreement may be five years instead of the seven-year term that Hall received. "We're optimistic it'll get done, but it's not finalized," said Eberle's agent Craig Oster on Wednesday. It's likely that a new deal won't be reached until after the Labor Day weekend, but it could arrive as soon as the next few days.
