Eberle scored twice, including a power-play goal, and added four shots with two hits in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Devils.

EDGE Analysis

After going scoreless in his first three games, Eberle finally found the net with a breakaway goal late in the first period and a power-play tally early in the third. The 30-year-old winger, a six-time 20-goal scorer, dipped to 16 last year, his lowest total since the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season.

Eberle could be fighting for his spot on the team this season, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Islanders are currently in a salary-cap crunch, which led to the Devon Toews' trade during the offseason. That situation is not going to change this summer. Eberle has four years left on a contract that pays him $5.5 million per season. That's quite a bit of money to be paid to a player who may not have hit the 20-goal mark last season even if he played 82 games. The Islanders may see if the Kraken will take him in the expansion draft should Eberle disappoint this season again.

Eberle could be fighting for his spot on the team this season, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports.

EDGE Analysis

Eberle is only in the second year of a five-year $27.5 million contract but is still not firmly entrenched as a top-six forward for the Islanders. If Eberle were to have another subpar season, especially one where he has golden scoring chances but is unable to bury them, he could find himself left unprotected in the expansion draft for the Kraken this summer. Truth is, with the Islanders likely to remain in a salary cap crunch after the season, Eberle is likely to be left unprotected under most circumstances as the team will have to shed salary from some place. it doesn't help Eberle's prospects that his linemate, Matthew Barzal is a current holdout but Eberle is still expected to open the season on the top line with Lee and either Barzal, assuming he is signed, or Jean-Gabriel Pageau.

Eberle scored the game-winning goal in Tuesday's 2-1 double-overtime win over Tampa Bay in Game 5. He also had two shots and three hits.

EDGE Analysis

Eberle converted a perfect 2-on-1 feed from Anders Lee at 12:30 of the second overtime to deliver the win and push the series to a sixth game. It was Eberle's first point since the series opener, when he had a goal and assist with five shots. The veteran winger has produced five goals and 14 points through 21 games.

Eberle scored a power-play goal and added an assist in Monday's 8-2 loss to the Lightning in Game 1.

EDGE Analysis

Eberle's tally at 4:33 of the first period tied the game at one. When he assisted on Nick Leddy's goal in the third, the Islanders were still down by four goals. It was still a solid effort for Eberle, who now has four markers, nine helpers, 44 shots on goal and a plus-6 rating through 17 contests. He's riding a four-game point streak with a goal and four assists in that span.

Eberle collected two assists and one shot in Saturday's 3-1 win over Philadelphia in Game 3.

EDGE Analysis

Eberle picked up the second assist on Matt Martin's game-tying goal in the second period, then set up Anders Lee's game-winner with the man advantage early in the third. Eberle has gone his last seven games without a goal, although he's chipped in with three assists in three games so far against the Flyers.

Eberle scored two goals, one on the power play and the other the game-winner, during Tuesday's 4-2 victory over the Panthers in Game 2 of their Stanley Cup Qualifier.

EDGE Analysis

The 30-year-old was nearly invisible in Game 1, failing to even record a shot on goal, but Eberle woke up in impressive fashion Tuesday. That kind of inconsistency has been the story of his career, but Eberle will try to carry some momentum into Game 3 on Wednesday afternoon as the Isles go for a series sweep.

Eberle registered a goal on five shots Thursday in a 3-2 overtime loss to St. Louis.

EDGE Analysis

Eberle picked up his 15th goal of the year late in the first period to give the Islanders a 2-0 lead. That extended Eberle's point streak to a season-best five games and gave him seven points (five goals, two assists) during that run. The 29-year-old winger has 37 points in 53 games, already matching his 2018-19 total.

Eberle scored three goals, one on the power play, in Friday's 4-1 win over the Red Wings.

EDGE Analysis

He found the back of the net in every period, with his second-period tally proving to be the game-winner. The hat trick was the third of Eberle's career, but it also equaled his goal-scoring output from the prior 12 games combined. On the season, the 29-year-old has 13 goals and 34 points through 50 contests.
