Gibson was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and is expected to start Thursday against the Flames, Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times reports. Frederik Andersen submitted sub-.900 save percentages while taking the loss in both of the Ducks' previous two contests, so it's not overly surprising that Gibson will receive a chance to get the team back in the win column. Coach Bruce Boudreau indicated last week that he'd employ a rough timeshare between his two goalies for the remainder of the season, but he could have the temptation to ride the hot goalie for a stretch. With Andersen scuffling of late, opportunity knocks for Gibson to earn a greater share of the netminding duties if he can turn in a stellar performance Wednesday.

Coach Bruce Boudreau suggested after Friday's morning skate that Gibson would split the goaltending duties with Frederik Andersen through the remainder of the season, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. The news qualifies as a positive development for Gibson, who seemed at risk of losing out on regular action when Andersen returned from injured reserve earlier this week. However, Gibson's capable play during Andersen's absence -- highlighted by wins in six of his last seven starts -- was enough to convince the Ducks' brass to not only keep the 21-year-old with the parent club, but to also carve out a decent-sized role for him. Expect the Ducks to adopt an alternate starting pattern with their two goalies, with Gibson likely possessing strong odds to come away with the victory on any given night due to the strong complement of players around him.

Gibson stopped 37-of-38 in his return to the Ducks net on Wednesday night. Gibson's stellar play of late is a nice luxury for the Ducks to have. He's managed to win six of his past seven starts - pretty successful for a backup goalie. If Gibson can continue to stay strong in net, expect him to get a number of starts down the stretch with the Ducks probably wanting to keep number one goalie Frederik Andersen fresh for a hopefully long playoff run.

Gibson is slated to start Wednesday's game against Montreal, Curtis Zupke of NHL.com reports. With Frederik Andersen having returned to the Ducks' net Tuesday against the Coyotes, Gibson is in line Wednesday to make his first career start against the Habs, who were blanked (by a 4-0 score) by the Sharks on Monday.

Gibson stopped 39-of-40 shots faced Sunday night in Dallas. This was Gibson's fifth win in his last six starts, as it appears that both him and his team have worked their way out of a slump. However, it appears that Gibson will be relegated to backup duties very soon with regular starter Frederik Andersen fully recovered from a head/neck injury. Keep a close eye on Gibson's status for upcoming games.

Gibson will start in net against the Stars on Sunday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. Gibson has been outstanding in net recently, winning four of the last five contests between the pipes. He'll be back in net again Sunday, facing a Stars squad second in the league in scoring this season (3.11 G/GP).

Gibson stopped 20 of 22 shots in a 4-2 win over the Kings on Friday. That's four wins in the last five starts for the rookie, who appears to be adjusting well to life in the NHL. Too bad then, that starter Freddy Anderson (neck) was activated from injured reserve Friday, likely spelling the end of Gibson's time as a starter. He'll get to stick with the Ducks in a backup role, though, and could be a nice spot-start option down the stretch when Andersen needs a rest.

Gibson will start Friday's game against Los Angeles, the Orange County Register reports. Gibson will make an eighth consecutive start, but with Jason LaBarbera demoted to AHL Norfolk on Friday, it appears Frederik Andersen (upper body) is at least ready to serve as the backup. The Ducks may send Gibson down to the AHL to give him regular work, but there's also some chance the team opts to keep him around to spell Andersen.

Gibson turned aside 31 of 33 pucks but ended up the loser as the Ducks were shut out 3-0 at home by Ottawa. The third goal was an empty-netter. Despite falling short of grabbing his fourth consecutive win, Gibson was terrific in this one, so owners counting on a win should be more disappointed in the Quackers' scorers than the rookie netminder. The 21-year-old has racked up some serious crease time of late with Freddy Andersen (neck) shelved, appearing in eight straight games. Gibson is likely to get shipped back down to AHL Norfolk when Andersen returns from injury to allow him to continue to play regularly.

Gibson will be in the crease for Wednesday's game against the Ducks, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. Gibson enters the net a winner of three consecutive games and will be making his seventh straight start. His rate stats (2.74 GAA, .912 save percentage) haven't been great during his time with the Ducks this season, but he's still represents the team's second-best option in goal behind Frederik Andersen (neck), who remains on IR. Andersen seems to be making progress in his recovery and could be back by the weekend, but that doesn't necessarily mean Gibson will stick around as the backup goalie. Since he's still just 21 years old, the Ducks would prefer Gibson play close to a regular basis, which he'd be able to do at AHL Norfolk.
