James Reimer had a nightmare of a game in Monday's 6-0 loss to the Blue Jackets.
Reimer allowed six goals on just 21 shots before he was put out of his misery and replaced by Jonathan Bernier with about eight minutes to play. His record falls to 6-3-0 after the thrashing while his GAA is now 2.54 and his save percentage is .934.

James Reimer is becoming Mr. Saturday Night.
He will get the start against the Capitals, which will be his fourth consecutive Saturday night start. The Caps will be in an ornery mood having lost to the Canadiens 3-2 Friday night.

James Reimer kicked away 33 shots in Toronto's 4-2 win over the Sabres on Saturday night.
Quite a different result for the Leafs after getting beat at Buffalo on Friday night. In reality, though, it's a good thing they have such a solid duo between the pipes because they continue to get outshot far too often. Saturday, Buffalo had 45 total shots (including those blocked) compared to Toronto's 39, but the shots on net ended up 35 to 22. Reimer has a 2.30 goals-against average and .942 save percentage this season.

James Reimer is the likely starter Saturday night against Buffalo.
There are a number of reasons this is likely. First, Jonathan Bernier played Friday night against Buffalo in the first game of the team's back-to-back series. Second, Bernier was the only Leaf goalie on the ice Saturday morning in the team's optional skate. We think that all adds up to a Reimer start.

James Reimer kicked away 31 of 33 shots in Toronto's 3-1 loss to the Maple Leafs on Saturday night.
In the Leafs' first game since the debacle in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals, Reimer was more than up to the task. The Bruins tilted the ice in the first period, but he gave up only one goal. Then, in the third, he had no chance to make a save on Patrice Bergeron because Paul Ranger was on top of him. The Leafs' duo between the pipes gives them a chance each night.

James Reimer returns to the TD Center to play against the Bruins Saturday night.
He had his best and worst moments of the playoffs last season in the TD Center and will likely be motivated to put on a good show. He needs to as Jonathan Bernier was outstanding in a 2-1 shootout win over New Jersey Fridany night.

James Reimer made 43 saves, but they weren't nearly enough as Toronto was dominated by the Canucks in a 4-0 loss.
Sure, the Leafs are 10-5-0 and have gotten off to a great start. But there's just no way they're going to continue with their same success rate while getting outshot they way they've been. Tonight was a perfect example. Reimer was good, but no team is winning many games while allowing 47 shots (and getting only 21 of its own).
