Jake Gardiner potted a power-play goal in Tuesday's win over Boston.
He skated on the top unit in the contest, which could give his fantasy value a boost if he remains in that role. Gardiner has contributed just 14 points in 46 games this season, but he still possesses plenty of offensive potential.

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Randy Carlyle was unusually effusive about defenseman Jake Gardiner's play when asked on Sunday.
Carlyle told TSN's Jonas Siegel that Gardiner's Saturday performance was "probably the model in which we'd like him to play to." The 23-year-old has 13 points, 10 PIM, 67 SOG and a -2 rating in 44 games played. He's also averaged 21:36 TOI per contest.

Jake Gardiner played a strong game Friday night against the Capitals.
He was a healthy scratch Wednesday night and responded very well from sitting a game in the press box. Playing alongside rooke rearguard Morgan Rielly, Gardiner had one of his best games of the season according to coach Randy Carlyle. "He skated the puck, he didn't turn it over. We know he has NHL-level skills," Carlyle said. Gardiner was rewarded with 19:33 of ice time including just over four minutes on the power play. Perhaps Gardiner is ready to turn the corner. Watch him.

Jake Gardiner played a game-high 26:10 of ice time in Wednesday's loss to Los Angeles.
The Leafs defense corps played well against the Kings despite the loss of captain Dion Phaneuf to a suspension. Gardiner has been receiving much more ice time of late and his play is improving. He has also picked up his point production, with a goal and three assists in his last four contests.

Jake Gardiner was a healthy scratch Wednesday night.
It was the first time this season that he watched from the press box. Gardiner struggled in Monday's loss to Columbus and he hasn't produced much offense this season. He has no goals and five assists in 24 appearances.

Jake Gardiner registered an assist in Toronto's 2-1 shootout win against Washington.
After recording 30 points in his rookie season, Gardiner has just five assists in 23 games in 2013-14. He definitely has plenty of offensive upside, but we would recommend taking a wait-and-see approach rather than stashing him on your bench in a standard league.

Jake Gardiner seems to like playing against the Boston Bruins.
He was excellent for Toronto in the playoffs versus Boston, with five points in six games, and had seven shots over 19:31 of ice time in Saturday's 3-1 defeat. Gardiner has only three assists in 17 games this campaign, but more performances like this would go a long way to helping him turn his misfortunes around.

Jake Gardiner is still getting re-adjusted this season, while trying to get back to the level he displayed during the playoffs.
"Definitely not there right now, but I don't think anyone is at that level," Gardiner said. "Playing my off-side is something to get used to and playing with a new partner (Paul Ranger) is something to get comfortable with and get that chemistry. I think we have been working toward that, but we still need some work." He has two assists in 10 games and he's been averaging 19:41 of ice time per contest.
