Gardiner assisted on the Leafs' lone goal in Saturday's loss to the Blues.
Gardiner saw a team-high 23:44 of ice time in the loss, a surprising development for a player who has disappointed the Leafs with his play this season. While Gardiner has shown that he's capable in the past of providing offense in droves, he's only mustered three points over his last 12 games and is sitting on a minus-23 rating for the season. It probably makes sense to steer clear of using him in mid-sized or shallower formats.

Gardiner set up two goals, including one on the power play, in Saturday's 5-1 win over Edmonton.
He now has three helpers (two on the PP) in his last two games. He has just 14 points in 51 games this season and his minus-20 is horrific. Yet those who follow advanced stats will tell you he's one of the Leafs' best. Advanced stats may be catching on in the NHL, but they're not used much in fantasy. So his value continues to be mediocre at best.

Gardiner picked up two assists in Toronto's 4-3 loss to Ottawa on Wednesday night. They were his first points in 12 games.
How does a guy with that much talent go through such a slump? Well, he just doesn't think the game well. But that's OK if he can still put up points. He's a risk right now, but is the kind of guy who can turn it up at any time.

Gardiner, who was frequently in former coach Randy Carlyle's dog house, played his first game after Carlyle's firing and finished minus-4.
So much for making a positive impression -- he was out of position and there were too many risky plays. He has talent, but we've always been concerned about his ability to think the game. The next couple weeks will be important for him to change the minds of Leafs' brass.

Gardiner was a healthy scratch for Saturday's game against the Flyers.
With just eight points and a minus-11 rating in 30 games, Gardiner has been mostly a letdown for the Leafs this season. He's probably too talented to stick in the press box for long, but perhaps the healthy scratch will serve as a wake-up call for the blueliner. He was replaced in Saturday's lineup by Korbinian Holzer.

Gardiner picked up an assist in Thursday's loss to the Devils.
He has three assists in his last three games, but has only seven points in 23 games. His game hasn't grown this season, but he has shown occasional flashes. But his minus-10 rating is a bit of an anchor for those of you in leagues that count that stat. He still has a solid future, but it won't be this year.

Gardiner (knee) is in the lineup Saturday against the Rangers, Jonas Siegel of TSN reports.
Gardiner went into warm-ups as a game-time decision, and will in fact play. The blueliner has a goal and an assist in 11 games this season.

Gardiner (lower body) will be a game-time decision Saturday against the Rangers, Jonas Siegel of TSN Radio 1050 reports.
Gardiner took part in the Leafs' morning skate and said he felt fine, but he'll be examined in pregame warmups before the team signs off on his return to the lineup. Even prior to suffering the injury, Gardiner had been off to an uninspiring start to the season, contributing two points in 11 games.

Gardiner is dealing with a bone bruise and was seen limping in the locker room following Thursday's game, Jonas Siegel of TSN 1050 reports.
Gardiner left the game and underwent an X-ray before being ruled out for the game. The fact that he isn't dealing with a break is encouraging, but his status for Saturday's game appears questionable at this point.

Gardiner left Thursday's game with a lower body injury and will not return.
Gardiner went to the dressing room and received X-Rays, and was later ruled out. The team will likely update his status in the future, but he should be considered day-to-day until something more is revealed.
