Jake Gardiner played a game-high 26:10 of ice time in Wednesday's loss to Los Angeles. The Leafs defense corps played well against the Kings despite the loss of captain Dion Phaneuf to a suspension. Gardiner has been receiving much more ice time of late and his play is improving. He has also picked up his point production, with a goal and three assists in his last four contests.
