Jake Gardiner is still trying to work his way back from a concussion and is a "coach's decision" Tuesday night vs. Buffalo. Gardiner was originally assigned to the Toronto Marlies but rejoined the Leafs due to the AHL's All-Star break. Gardiner hasn't look like himself since returning to action and we'd be surprised if he was in the lineup tonight. Coach Randy Carlyle said returning Gardiner to the AHL later this week is still very much in play.

Jake Gardiner, who is working his way back from concussion-like symptoms, is up with the Leafs because the AHL is on their all-star break. It is expected that Gardiner, who skated with the Leafs on Monday, will be returned to get more conditioning in the minors once the all-star festivities are over. The AHL resumes action on Thursday and the Toronto Marlies play Friday.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled Jake Gardiner from the Marlies of the AHL on Sunday. Gardiner is back with the Leafs after a one-game stint in the AHL. Gardiner was first among NHL rookie blueliners in points last season with 30 in 75 games but missed a good chunk of time recovering from a concussion. He was in the AHL on a conditioning stint. That league is currently on it's All-Star break.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have demoted Jake Gardiner. Gardiner missed a good chunk of time recovering from a concussion, so he's going to head to the AHL where he can get back into the swing of things now that he's healthy. He has no points and a minus-one rating in two games with the Maple Leafs this season.

Jake Gardiner has been activated for Wednesday night's game against Pittsburgh. He will make his season debut after being sidelined since December 8 with concussion and whiplash symptoms. Gardiner was first among NHL rookie blueliners in points last season with 30 in 75 games. He should get some power-play time and help Toronto's transition game. Get him back in your lineup if you normally would.

Jake Gardiner (neck/head) hasn't been ruled out for Wednesday's game against Pittsburgh. However, don't be surprised if the Leafs decide to hold him out for another game after coach Randy Carlyle speaks with team doctors and management before making a decision on the young defenseman's status. Gardiner has declared himself fit to play and he's just waiting for the green light from the doctors.

Jake Gardiner (neck/head) thinks he's ready to return to the Maple Leafs' lineup, but hasn't received medical clearance yet. Gardiner still won't play on Monday and it might be a little longer after that before he makes his return. He still hasn't participated in full-contact drills, so that will likely be the next step.

Jake Gardiner (neck/head) took to the ice for a third straight day Thurday prior to Toronto's practice session. He has been sidelined with concussion/whiplash symptoms since Dec. 8, but appears to be inching himself closer to being to return. His status for Saturday remains uncertain though.

Randy Carlyle says Jake Gardiner (concussion/whiplash symptoms) skated Tuesday and could play in Saturday's season opener. Gardiner hasn't played since suffering a concussion after a hit to the head Dec. 8, so it's surprising that he's even an option Saturday. Concussions have different timetables for each player, so owners who drafted Gardiner in keeper leagues will just have to wait and see if he progresses in time to play Saturday.
