Allen made just 14 saves on 16 shots Friday, taking a 2-1 loss against Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
When you don't face a heavy workload, you've got to come through, but Allen didn't do that in this one, as Dallas did just enough to steal the two points while Allen hurt his team and his owners. Allen is not on form right now and with matchups with the Sharks and Jets on the horizon, it's not a bad idea to bench him while he gets things sorted out, if you have a good option to stick in his stead.

Allen will tend twine Friday against the Stars, Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Blues continue to revert back to Allen in hopes that he can find the confidence that led the Blues to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season with a .935 save percentage in 11 postseason games. Allen hasn't been so flashy lately, though, winning just one game since the start of January and accruing a .887 save percentage in seven games. Dallas will enter Friday's game well rested, as they haven't played since Sunday, so Allen will get no favors in this important divisional matchup.

Allen allowed three goals on 22 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Penguins on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
It appeared as though the Blues were going to take a 2-1 lead early in the third period, but the goal was overturned because of a high stick. Moments later, a turnover led to the Penguins getting the go-ahead marker, and the third period quickly turned for the Blues. Allen played well, but some mistakes in front of him resulted in a less than stellar statistical day. Allen dropped to 19-16-2 with the loss.

Allen will be the home starter against the Penguins on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Carter Hutton has played some amazing hockey for the Blues, which has bumped Allen down to the backup role. The American netminder's numbers have been lackluster as well, as he has a 2.73 GAA and a .909 save percentage. The Penguins have scored 3.04 goals per game and put 34.4 shots on net per contest, so Allen is going to be in for a difficult task today.

Allen allowed two goals on 22 shots in a 5-2 victory over the Jets on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Finally, Allen got back in the win column with this one, capturing his first victory Friday since Dec. 23. He had lost five straight decisions prior to Friday. However, that doesn't tell the whole story, as Allen also came into the night with a .921 save percentage in his last three appearances. Perhaps this win can propel Allen to a hot spring like he experienced last season.

Allen has been pegged as Friday's starter for the team's matchup against the Jets in Winnipeg.
EDGE Analysis
Allen allowed three pucks past him in relief of Carter Hutton last time out and has essentially lost the starting role for the Blues this season. Prior to Friday's action, he owns just an 18-15-2 record while posting a career-worst 2.75 GAA and a .909 save percentage. Considering he faces a Winnipeg team leading the league with 3.80 goals per game at home this season, a turnaround Friday doesn't appear promising.

Allen allowed three goals on 12 shots in two periods of relief during Tuesday's 6-2 loss to Minnesota.
EDGE Analysis
Allen came in after Carter Hutton gave up three goals on eight shots in the first period, but he didn't help his chances of cutting into Hutton's workload by playing almost as poorly himself. The 27-year-old netminder has been one of the biggest disappointments at his position, as Allen owns an awful 1-9-0 record in 12 appearances since Dec. 12. He came into the season with no worse than a 2.46 GAA in any of his first four campaigns, so few could have seen this downturn coming.

Allen saved 43 of 45 shots during Thursday's 3-1 loss to Boston.
EDGE Analysis
This was Allen's first start since Jan. 9, and his last win was all the way back on Dec. 23. While this checked out as an impressive showing, Carter Hutton appears to be the top option between the pipes for the Blues, which has crippled Allen's fantasy value. There's potential for Allen to reclaim his position as the No. 1 netminder in St. Louis, but Hutton's leash lengthens with every strong showing.

Allen will start in goal Thursday night against the Bruins in Boston, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic St. Louis reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen has only made three appearances in 2018, with the light workload partially attributed to Carter Hutton arguably being the biggest breakout performer among goalies with a 13-4-1 record and sterling .945 save percentage through 22 games. Slowing the B's figures to be a daunting task for Allen since Boston is 16-6-4 at home and presents the league's sixth-best offense, as well as a power play ranked seventh overall at 21.2 percent.

Allen allowed two goals on 32 shots in relief of Carter Hutton during a 5-2 loss to the Coyotes on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a rough season for the 27-year-old, as he lost his job to career backup Carter Hutton after giving up five goals to Florida on Jan. 9. But in his first action in nearly two weeks, Allen was pretty sharp, stopping 24 of 25 at even strength. Allen came into Saturday with a 18-14-2 record, .908 save percentage and 2.75 GAA. But with a pretty strong relief performance, don't be surprised if he receives a start or two prior to the All-Star break.
