Markstrom gave up five goals on 38 shots in Sunday's loss to the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom had no answer for the Kings, who blanked the Canucks and got three goals from Tyler Toffoli. The rough night comes after Markstrom allowed just two goals in back-to-back wins over Tampa Bay and Edmonton. The 25-year-old falls to 3-4-3 on the season with a .917 save percentage. This was the first time in his last six appearances that he's allowed over two goals in a game, so we wouldn't worry too much. He'll bounce back in the cage with Ryan Miller (muscle cramps) sidelined.

Markstrom gets the start in goal Monday against the Kings, Brad Ziemer of the Vancouver Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom has come out on top in his last two outings, allowing just one lone goal in each. While he may have struggled at the beginning of the season, the 25-year-old has performed well with starter Ryan Miller (muscle cramps) sidelined. The Kings have been peppering netminders with shots this season, averaging a league high 32.3 per game, expect Monday to be no different for Markstrom.

Markstrom stopped all but one of the 33 shots he faced in Saturday's overtime win over the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
That's back-to-back strong performances from Markstrom, who may have just earned himself a few more starts. In his last three outings, the 25-year-old has stopped an impressive 87 of 91 shots, advancing his save percentage to .924 on the season. Markstrom, who also picked up an assist in the win, should start seeing more crease time, especially if he continues to steal games as he did Saturday.

Markstrom will tend to the crease Saturday night, taking shots from the visiting Oilers, Steve Ewen of The Province reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom has been sent between the pipes six times in December, posting a 1-2-2 record, 2.08 GAA and .928 save percentage this month. He's seeing an increase in playing time with Ryan Miller sidelined due to a cramping issue. Joe Cannata reportedly will serve as Markstrom's backup Saturday evening.

Markstrom allowed one goal on 27 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis

Markstrom will be between the pipes in Tuesday's game against the Lightning, Jon Abbott of TSN 1040 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom was solid in his last outing Thursday against Philadelphia, stopping 29 of 31 shots, but ultimately suffered a 2-0 loss due to his teammates' lack of goal support. On Tuesday he'll draw into a tough matchup with a surging Tampa Bay club that has won two of its last three games, potting five goals in each of those victories.

Markstrom stopped 29 of the 31 pucks that came his way Thursday in Philadelphia, but his teammates offered no support in a 2-0 loss.
EDGE Analysis
Although his production has been inconsistent this year in limited time, you can't pin this one on Markstrom, as he delivered a credible performance that was worthy of a win. That said, the Swedish backup is still sitting on just one win in eight games (six starts) on the year. That's not getting it done for fantasy owners.

Markstrom will start in goal Thursday against the Flyers, Kyle Phillippi of CSN Philly reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom hasn't been spectacular in the games he has filled in for Ryan Miller this season, compiling a 1-2-2 record with a .906 save percentage and 2.87 GAA in seven appearances. In his last start he gave up four goals on just 22 shots in a loss to Boston on Dec. 5. The 25-year-old Swede has a decent matchup against a Flyers team that scores an average of just 2.10 goals per game, the second worst rate in the league. Philadelphia is currently in sixth place in the Metropolitan Division.

Markstrom stopped all five shots he faced in relief of Ryan Miller Tuesday against the Wild.
EDGE Analysis
Miller was pulled after giving up six goals on 36 shots and was credited with the loss. While it's easy to point fingers at the goaltender, Miller was left out to dry Tuesday, so don't think this means Markstrom could see increased crease time. Miller still owns a .910 save percentage on the season and is doing fine despite the team's overall struggles. Markstrom owns a .906 save percentage in seven appearances this year, making him a decent spot start whenever the workhorse Miller is given the night off.

Markstrom allowed four goals on 22 shots in Saturday's loss to the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
While it wasn't a good night for Markstrom, the Canucks failed to score a goal on the night and left their goaltender out to dry. The 25-year-old has now suffered four straight losses, dropping his record to 1-1-2 on the season. Considering Ryan Miller is the clear-cut starter and Markstrom is currently sporting a disappointing .904 save percentage, the former Panther doesn't hold much fantasy value right now.
