Lack gave up seven goals on 48 shots in Friday's loss to Colorado.
Lack hasn't exactly impressed in two starts this season, losing both games and surrendering a combined 11 goals in that span. After starter Ryan Miller put on a dominant performance Thursday, it's expected Lack will return to his seat on the bench in the next upcoming games. The 26-year-old Swede hasn't been good enough to challenge Miller for ice time, so expect nothing to change on the Canucks' goaltending depth chart for the time being.

Lack led the Canucks on to the ice for pre-game warm-ups, and will make his second start of the season in Friday's match up with the Avalanche.
After starting goaltender Ryan Miller's poor performance in Tuesday's game (allowing five goals in 21:17 minutes of action) Lack has been given the opportunity to start his second game of the season in place of Miller. If he performs well, he may make a case for increased playing time moving forward.

Lack entered Tuesday's loss to the Stars early in the second period, stopping 14 of 15 shots.
Starting goalie Ryan Miller was pulled after allowing five goals in his first 21:17 of action, resulting in Lack making an appearance in back-to-back games. Miller had won his previous three turns of the season before Tuesday's debacle, so Lack doesn't figure to parlay his solid relief performance into a larger chunk of the Canucks' goaltending duties.

Lack gave up four goals on 24 shots in Saturday's loss to the Lightning.
It was the first start of the season for Lack, who is the backup to starter Ryan Miller. Considering the former-Sabre is 3-0-0 on the season, Lack is likely to be stapled to the bench for the time being. Lack should see his fair amount of starts this season, but his somewhat disappointing performance Saturday isn't doing him any favors.

Luck will be in the crease Saturday against the Lightning, Farhan Lalji of TSN reports.
Vancouver's offseason signing of Ryan Miller will mean a lighter workload this season for Lack, who had served as the team's primary starter during the final few months of the 2013-14 campaign. Lack will be in the net for his season debut Saturday, and as one of the league's more capable backups, he'll make for a decent starting option against weaker competition.

Lack made 21 saves on 22 shots in Thursday's preseason win over Edmonton.
Barring an unexpected appearance Saturday against the Oilers, Lack will finish the preseason with 57 saves on 58 shots, good for a whopping .983 save percentage. Lack has looked terrific in exhibition action, making some unbelievable saves, while also appearing calm and collected. Although Lack currently sits behind 34-year-old Ryan Miller on the Canucks' depth chart, it's very possible Lack could steal some starts from the veteran goaltender in 2014-2015.

Lack stopped all 20 shots he faced in Thursday's preseason win over Calgary.
Lack shared goaltending duties on Thursday with prospect Joacim Eriksson , who made ten saves on 11 shots. Lack's had a terrific preseason, stopping all 36 shots he's faced through two games. He enters the season as the clear backup goalie behind starter Ryan Miller.

Lack stopped all 16 shots he faced in Tuesday's preseason win over San Jose.
Lack split the game with fellow goalie Joe Cannata, who gave up two goals on 18 shots. Lack enters this season as Vancouver's clear backup goalie behind veteran Ryan Miller. If Lack gets hot at any point during the season, which is probable, he could challenge Miller for some starts. Expect Lack to play 20-30 games with Vancouver this upcoming campaign.

Vancouer GM Jim Benning thinks adding Ryan Miller will be good for Eddie Lack.
"If Ryan is our guy who is going to play the majority of the games, I think Eddie can look to him as a mentor," Benning said. "I think he can continue to grow as a goalie. Goaltending is a hard position. Goalies develop later. I don't think you know what you have with a goalie until they are 26 or 27." Lack is 26 and he played the first 41 games of his NHL career for the Canucks last season. He has two years left on his current deal before he becomes an unrestricted free agent and Miller is signed for the next three seasons.

Vancouver GM Jim Benning is open to upgrading his crease situation going into next year, so Eddie Lack and Jacob Markstrom could face some competition.
"We're going to look at every avenue we have to make our team competitive. Vancouver is a big-market city, we've got a passionate fan base, [and] our owners want to win," Benning told Sportsnet 590 The Fan. "I know they have a lot of confidence in Eddie Lack. For a first-year goalie last year, he had a good season, and we hope that he can take it to the next step this year." The Canucks could use a seasoned and proven netminder, but they would also like to add a scorer up front so a $2.35 million cap hit for its goaltending tandem might be an attractive option. Still, there will be plenty of names available in the open market this summer, including Ryan Miller, Jonas Hiller, Ilya Bryzgalov, Tim Thomas, Alex Stalock and Thomas Greiss.
