Craig Anderson came up short in the Senators' 5-4 shootout loss to the Maple Leafs on Saturday night.
Anderson had an uneven night in net. Facing 42 shots, he was certainly busy, allowing two goals on 14 shots in the first, one goal on 13 shots in the second and one on 10 shots in the third period. It's a disappointing result considering Ottawa held a 4-2 advantage midway through the game. He'll look for better results at the Kings on Wednesday night.

Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson got the edge - at least in terms of grabbing the win - against Buffalo Sabres netminder Ryan Miller in quite the duel on Friday.
Anderson stopped all 35 shots he saw, earning his first shutout of 2013-14 in his first start of the season. Despite his astounding .941 save percentage last season, he only managed three shutouts. His career-high came when he generated 7 in his debut with the Colorado Avalanche in 2009-10.

Don't be surprised if Craig Anderson plays in both games for Ottawa this week.
The Senators don't open the regular season until Friday when they play in Buffalo and after that Ottawa will visit Toronto on Saturday night. Anderson was asked if he's prepared to play in both games and he said: "If that's the way it comes down, that's the way it comes down. You earn your ice time and the ultimate decision comes down to the coaching staff." Backup keeper Robin Lehner could get the call for one of those contests, so stay tuned.

Craig Anderson didn't suit up in Wednesday's preseason game against Montreal as a precaution.
Coach Paul MacLean called the ailment a minor "camp issue" and said that Anderson likely would've played had it been a regular-season match. The Ottawa goaltender denied that his ankle was giving him difficulty again. "This is just basic training camp - you get pushed through the ringer a few times, things start to get sore, you just want to make sure you don't take it too far," he said. The Senators would like Anderson to play in at least one exhibition game prior to the start of the regular season.

Craig Anderson is back on the ice Saturday morning after missing Thursday's third period in the Senators' 3-2 loss to Toronto.
There was no injury, as Anderson just took the third period off. "I'm physically fine," said Anderson. "I wasn't scheduled to play the (third period). I just came into the room and got undressed. It's one of those things where I wasn't really playing, but at the same time there was no issues." All you Anderson owners can now breath a big sigh of relief.

Chris Anderson gave up six goals on 33 shots in Ottawa's 6-2 Game 5 loss to Pittsburgh on Friday night.
Anderson, just like his teammates, found the Penguins' high-flying attack too difficult to contain, giving up 20 goals -- 12 over the last two games -- in the series. A far from ideal playoffs should not take away from the brilliant season he had, though 21-year-old Robin Lehner is lurking and more than capable of handling the full-time load. Starting with coach Paul MacLean, there's a lot to like about the Senators moving forward and the goaltending situation is certainly one of them.

Obviously, Craig Anderson will be between the pipes for Ottawa Friday night in Game 5 at Pittsburgh.
He allowed six goals on 38 shots in a 7-3 loss to the Penguins on Wednesday night and was pulled for the second time in the series, but he was excellent in the first period and helped the Senators steal Game 3 in double overtime. Coach Paul MacLean said there was no question in his mind that Anderson would play in Game 5. Ottawa will attempt to avoid playoff elimination in the contest.
