Craig Anderson (neck) will probably serve as the Senators' backup goaltender on Saturday. Ottawa has already demoted goaltender Nathan Lawson, so if Anderson can't at least warm the bench on Saturday, then the Senators will need to make another roster move. Assuming that Anderson is ready to return from a neck injury, then he'll probably end up starting on Tuesday.

Craig Anderson (neck) was back on the ice Wednesday, but there's no timetable in place for when he'll be able to return to the lineup. "It's positive that he was out there [Wednesday]," said coach Paul MacLean. "He still has some stiffness, so he's still day-to-day. We'll take it as that for now, but it's positive that he had the equipment on and was on the ice." Anderson stated that he felt better than he expected to and he's relieved that the play didn't end up worse for him. Dallas forward Valeri Nichushkin crashed into Anderson last Sunday and the Ottawa goalie was taken off the ice on a stretcher as a precaution.

Craig Anderson is day-to-day with a stiff neck, which he suffered Sunday against Dallas. He's not expected to play on Tuesday night when Ottawa plays at Columbus, but beyond that coach Paul MacLean said that Anderson's return will "depend on (his) level of comfort." The Senators goaltender underwent several tests on the injury they all came back negative. Pick up backup goaltender Robin Lehner, as a handcuff, for the time being if you haven't already done so.

The Ottawa Senators announced that Craig Anderson has a stiff ankle and is unlikely to play on Tuesday. The Sens said he'll receive further evaluation on Monday. Generally it seems like good news for Anderson, although Robin Lehner might be a nice short-term addition.

Good news for Ottawa Senators fans and Craig Anderson owners, as he was seen walking around the dressing room after Sunday's game. That's a great sign, as the crash happened late in Sunday's game. It doesn't mean he won't miss time, yet it increases the chances of things working out. The Senators ended up losing 4-3 via a shootout.

Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson was stretchered off the ice during overtime of Sunday's game against the Dallas Stars after a collision with Valeri Nichushkin. It was a scary incident, although the good news is that the American netminder was at least able to signal to the crowd. Robin Lehner came in relief of Anderson against the Stars.

It has now been confirmed that Craig Anderson will start in goal against Dallas Sunday afternoon. The Herculean performance of Robin Lehner this week was not enough to push Anderson aside. Make sure you have Anderson active as this is a 1:00 pm EST time start.

Craig Anderson is projected to start for Ottawa Sunday afternoon versus Dallas. He has allowed 11 goals in his last two outings and he's lost three straight games. Robin Lehner started Friday's contest against the New York Islanders, so perhaps getting that night off will help Anderson recollect himself.

Craig Anderson will probably start against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday. Anderson was the first goaltender off the ice during the morning skate, which is usually a good indicator of who the starter will be. He has a 2.81 GAA and .920 save percentage in nine games this season.
