It wouldn't surprise Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau if Corey Perry (shoulder) played on Wednesday.
Perry was on the ice for roughly 20 minutes on Tuesday after missing Monday's contest. "He makes remarkable improvement every day," Boudreau said. "I've only known him four months, but it would not surprise me to say that he would be playing (Wednesday). But I don't know yet."

Corey Perry (shoulder) didn't play in Monday's game.
That ended Perry's consecutive game streak at 272. Even then, the streak started after he missed four games due to a suspension, not an injury. The silver lining is that Perry's current ailment isn't believed to be serious.

Corey Perry (shoulder) didn't skate with the Ducks Monday morning.
It looks like Perry probably won't play in Monday's game, but that hasn't been confirmed. He has played in 272 consecutive contests.

Corey Perry remains day-to-day with his injured shoulder.
Perry suffered the injury on Saturday thanks to a Stephane Robidas hit. Anaheim's playoff hopes are just about finished, but Perry could obviously be very helpful in the fantasy playoffs. Without as much to fight for, he might be more willing to miss time, though.

Corey Perry injured his right shoulder in the Ducks' 2-0 loss to the Stars' Saturday night.
He left the game in the second period in obvious pain after being hit in a questionable manner by Dallas' Stephane Robidas. The good news is that X-rays on Perry's shoulder came back negative. He will continue to get treatment for the injury and his status for the Ducks' game Monday against the Avalanche will become clearer over the next 24 hours.

Coach Bruce Boudreau is trying to limit the ice time of his two star forwards Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf.
Perry and Getzlaf were second and fifth last season in ice time among forwards and are third and fourth respectively this season, trailing only Ilya Kovalchuk and Zach Parise of the Devils. "If they're not on the power play, it's about 50 seconds now," Boudreau said of their time per shift. "I'd still like it to get it to 45 seconds. But it's really a misleading stat. Because if you want to match and you pull them off in 10 seconds, that brings all the time down. They could still stay out for a minute and a half the next time and you've got two 45-second shifts. So you get the book at the end of the day and you look at how many shifts they had that are a minute or longer. It's a lot less than it was. We're trying to be more of a four-line team than a three-line team. You need short shifts." For the record, Getzlaf played 22:23 minutes Thursday while Perry was on the ice 21:36 minutes.

Corey Perry netted a pair of goals in Monday's 4-2 win over Edmonton.
He is third in the league with 33 goals in 67 games. Jason Blake opened the scoring in the contest on an Anaheim power play and Bobby Ryan potted the game winner just prior to the midway point of the third period. Ryan also added an assist in the win.

Corey Perry scored a goal and registered an assist in a 3-2 victory Friday night.
Perry won't come even close to matching his 2010-11 career-highs of 50 goals and 98 points in 82 games. However, on a more positive note, this season should end up being the second best of his career to date from a goal scoring perspective. Perry is a player that can contribute in every major offensive category, but he'll probably be, at best, a late first round selection in standard leagues next season.

Corey Perry's power play goal in the third was the Ducks first in 19 opportunities.
The Ducks had a great 5-1-2 road trip despite the lack of success with the man advantage. Coach Bruce Boudreau joked that in the third he was thinking of declining the next penalty before Perry finally potted one. The Ducks are only four points out of a playoff spot after being 20 points out earlier in the season. They could do it as they will now return home after the lengthy road trip.
