The Kings moved Anze Kopitar (lower body) to injured reserve in a corresponding move. Perry missed Los Angeles' past two games, but he'll probably serve in a bottom-six capacity Saturday versus Edmonton. Jacob Moverare, who dressed in the last two games as the seventh defenseman, might be a healthy scratch against the Oilers if Perry's return results in the Kings going back to dressing 12 forwards and six blueliners. Perry has nine goals and 21 points in 35 outings in 2025-26.

Perry is expected to miss Wednesday's game against San Jose. The Kings recalled forwards Andre Lee and Taylor Ward in corresponding moves. In addition to Perry being out, Anze Kopitar (lower body), Joel Armia (upper body) and Trevor Moore (illness) are all questionable for Wednesday's game, which could lead to Lee and Ward both being in the lineup.

The 40-year-old winger is up to nine goals, 21 points (nine on the power play), 65 shots on net, 14 hits, 36 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 34 outings this season. His offense may not be consistent from a fourth-line role, but he's still worth a look as a streaming option when he gets on a roll.

Perry, who is 40, became the oldest play in Kings history to put up three points in a game. Luc Robitaille (39 years, 336 days) set the mark when he scored three goals on Jan. 19, 2006. Remarkably, Perry is also on a three-game, five-point scoring streak (one goal, four assists). And he came a goal short of a Gordie Howe hat trick on Thursday -- he ended the game with a fight against Yanni Gourde. Perry has short-term value because of this modest streak, but don't expect him to maintain his output. He has eight goals, 12 assists and 61 shots in 33 games this season.

Perry is clearly not the dominant force he once was, but he remains a productive player at age 40. Even though he's now limited to a bottom-six role, he's still a member of the power-play unit, and that gives him streaming upside in some formats. Through 32 games, Perry has eight goals and 17 points this season.

Perry helped out on Adrian Kempe's game-tying tally at 5:21 of the second period. It's now been 18 games since Perry's last goal, though he has four assists, 31 shots on net and 18 PIM in that span. The agitating winger was never going to sustain his hot start to the year, but he's at a decent 15 points, 56 shots, 14 hits, 25 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 28 appearances. He does enough to be a streaming option in deeper formats.
