Corey Perry has been given a four-game suspension for his hit on Minnesota's Jason Zucker on Tuesday. Perry's hit was late and, in the view of the NHL's department of player safety, "recklessly" make contact with Zucker's head. Zucker left the game as a result of the hit and Perry was ejected. He'll be eligible to return on March 22.

Corey Perry was ejected from Monday's game against the Minnesota Wild. Perry took out Minnesota's Jason Zucker with a late and high hit. The league has already scheduled a hearing with Perry, but it will be over the telephone, which means that he can't be suspended for more than five games for his actions.

Corey Perry is on a six-game point streak. Perry had three assists on Wednesday, giving him 17 points in 18 games this season. He's bounced back from his disappointing 2011-12 campaign, which should help him as the Anaheim Ducks attempt to re-sign him before his contract expires this summer.

ESPN's Pierre LeBrun reports the Anaheim Ducks are expected to approach the camps of Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf about signing contract extensions with seven to 10 days. Both Perry and Getzlaf are slated to be unrestricted free agents after this season and both players certainly appear to be playing with their next contract in mind. The pair have combined for 11 goals and 32 points through 17 games and have helped the Ducks get off to a roaring start to the season. However, it should be noted this report comes in a blog and not an actual news story and should be taken with the appropriate grain of salt. It's entirely possible both players intent to test out free agency once the season ends and only time will tell as to whether Perry and Getzlaf wish to stay with Anaheim.

Corey Perry scored twice -- including the overtime game-winner -- in Anaheim's 4-3 triumph over the Avalanche on Sunday night. Perry, who also had an assist, now has points in four straight games, as he's making up for a slow start for his standards. The power forward has five goals and 13 points in 16 games this year. Ryan Getlzaf also tallied a three-point night with a goal and two assists, with Teemu Selanne notching the other goal. Francois Beuchemin recorded four assists.

Corey Perry is off to a slow start as he has found the back of the net only once in 11 games this season. Perry has six points and 16 penalty minutes to go with a plus-two rating but these are not the stats expected when he was likely drafted in the late first or early second round. "I put pressure on myself," Perry said. "Everybody expects big things. I obviously haven't been scoring but it's definitely different if we're 2-8-1 or whatever. Obviously, they'll come if I just keep shooting the puck." The Ducks have an 8-2-1 record and take on the 10-0-2 Chicago Blackhawks Tuesday.

The Anaheim Ducks were irate after their 3-1 loss to Dallas Friday night because they felt Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas got away with a spear against one of their star players, Corey Perry. "What do you want me to say?" Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau asked rhetorically. "Good refs have bad games. Like good hockey players have bad games, good refs have bad games." Perry said: "When he sticks his stick up, lifts it up and pulls it, I don't know what you'd call that. That's spearing to me." The Ducks' Brad Staubitz was penalized for seven minutes for retaliating with a spear against Dallas rookie Brenden Dillon. "I don't know," Perry said. "You've just got to call the first one and all that (stuff) doesn't happen. But they're in their own league tonight, I guess."
