Perry (illness) was skating on his own again Friday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. Perry's status for the weekend's back-to-back game appears unlikely at this point, and the road trip following the weekend is appears to be a questionable target return date as well. Perry will likely need to get in some conditioning and possibly a couple practices with the team before rejoining the lineup.

Perry (illness) rejoined the Ducks on Thursday, skating on his own before the team's practice. Perry had been kept away for the last several days while he dealt with the contagious mumps virus, an illness that has also afflicted teammate Francois Beauchemin. However, after showing improvement in his condition the last couple of days, Perry is now set to begin preparing for his return, with coach Bruce Boudreau not ruling him out for either of the Ducks' back-to-back weekend tilts against the Kings and Panthers, according to Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register. Still, it would seem more likely that Perry waits until next week before returning from injured reserve, since the viral infection undoubtedly will require a little time for him to regain full conditioning. Perry reportedly dealt with body temperatures as high as 102 degrees while he was hospitalized last week with a fever.

Perry has been dealing with the mumps virus and is considered day-to-day. While the illness has sidelined Perry for a week, he has already been cleared to return, and should be able to take the ice again "in a matter of days."

Perry (illness) has been diagnosed with a viral gland infection and will undergo further testing. What was initially thought to be a minor case of the flu has morphed into a larger problem for Perry, who has missed three straight games with the illness and has yet to resume skating. Though Perry is feeling better, both he and defenseman Francois Beauchemin have been advised to stay away from the team to prevent their contagious diseases from spreading to the rest of the team. More information on Perry's condition should be known when the Ducks receive the results of his medical tests Wednesday, but there remains no definitive timetable for the forward's return.

SOMETHINGWRONGWITHTHISLINK Perry wasn't expected to play Sunday anyway, and the move is retroactive and will allow him to be activated for Wednesday's game. Dany Heatley or Tim Jackman will likely slot in while Perry is out.

Perry (illness) has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Canucks. As anticipated, Perry will miss his third straight game while he continues to recover from the flu. He'll turn his attention toward preparing for a return to the lineup Wednesday against the Kings.

Perry (illness) is doubtful to play Sunday versus the Canucks, NHL.com's Curtis Zupke reports. Though Perry's condition has been reportedly improving, he remained off the ice for Saturday's practice, making it unlikely he'll return to the lineup. He's missed the previous two games with the flu, allowing Devante Smith-Pelly to pick up some ice time on the team's top line.

Perry (illness) did not practice Saturday, Lance Pugmire of the LA Times reports. Perry is still questionable for Sunday's game against the Canucks, and even though he didn't practice Saturday, his status is improving. Perry is off to an electric start this season, with 11 goals and four assists through 13 games.

Perry (illness) will not play Friday against the Coyotes, Elliott Teaford of the Los Angeles Daily News reports. Perry wasn't able to participate in either of the Ducks' skates Thursday or Friday, suggesting he's still feeling the effects of the illness that made him a late scratch Wednesday night. While he'll be in the press box for another game, it shouldn't be long before Perry is back operating at full strength. The winger leads the NHL with 11 goals.

Perry (illness) didn't practice Thursday and remains day-to-day, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. Coach Bruce Boudreau said that Perry, who missed Wednesday's loss to the Islanders with the flu, just needs a little more time for the illness to run its course. His status for Friday's game against the Coyotes likely won't be known until after the Ducks complete their morning skate.
